A Sore Q Cruise

All All MECA Backblasts

November 12th, 2016 By AstroVan

YHC was all excited to keep on Master Q Dingo’s Marathon Training Plan today and get 11 miles. Started OK with a cruise with Pharaoh up Mallard Creek Rd, Left on Prosperity Church, circle the Assisted Living Home across from Stonebridge and back.

We picked up Trail Mix and headed down Mallard Creek, Left on Governor Hunt, Left into Peak 10 (to run the Run Run Rudolph 5K route), through the parking lot and out to Claude Freeman, right Mallard Creek Church Rd., right on Senator Royal, right on David Taylor, Left on Governor Hunt, right in Peak 10 …. the rest of the route was supposed to be back to right on David Taylor, right on Governor Hunt Right on Mallard Creek and back to the cars.

What really happenend was YHC fell behind going up Claude Freeman and then fell really behind going up David Taylor. Luckily the others missed the turn to Governor Hunt and had to chase me down going up the hill on GH (which took them about 5 seconds) and YHC called it quits at the end of the RR Rudolph 5k route. Trail Mix I think took pitty on YHC and came with me on the walk/jog of shame back to the cars. Pharaoh continued on into the gloom like the conejo (or was that conjone) he is (#showtoknow), getting the a fore mention 11 mile goal for the day.

For YHC, this has been an interesting couple of weeks. I have run over 40 miles the last 2 weeks, as a person who still proclaims loudly that I HATE RUNNING. But it is amazing what finding a group of people to 2nd F with and push you to do things you wouldn’t necessarily do on your own can do for you (in exercise and in your daily life as fathers, husbands, coworker, leader, etc).

Thanks for the push today Trail Mix and Pharaoh. Good luck to all those competing today and God Bless the men that are in the mountains today working to be better Men in Christ.
