RS Cruise – 1600 Sprints…is that a real thing?
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 2nd, 2016
The goal is to get our Army PFT 2 mile time down, as Schnitzel is hosting the PFT next Thursday. 10 wise men fought the fartsack and posted for the Satisfaction Cruise – a new RS record! It sucked and we all got stronger.
WARMARAMA: 1/2 mile run up Moss Farm
THE THANG:
- Run 1 mile (1600 m) down Moss Farm for all your worth, from the blue bucket to the chains at the Haunted Daycare and back to the bucket
- Rest 2 minutes (walk or slow jog keeping the heartrate up)
- Run another mile at 100%
- Finish remaining time on Moss Farm for as many miles as you can
Final distances ranged from 3-5 miles
MOLESKIN:
- Many new Rolling Stone records:
- Best attendance for a cruise with 10 PAX
- Fastest 1 mile time @ 6:44 (maybe Bagheera can beat that -IDK)
- Longest distance @ 5.0 miles
- Hula posted a cruise (even if he was unintentionally misled)
- Great work by all the PAX! All of us have experienced tremendous growth. I remember not too long ago when Marie and Sugar were fighting to ave a 9:00 pace and are now sub 8:00. I personally enjoyed the route and staying together better. Thanks for following my lead as I continue the experiments! Haha. I love you dudes. You make it worth the pain and the early rise. There’s no way I’d be running at 0530 without you. I am honored to know you.
- Tcalps to Erik (FNG), who said he was out of shape yet completed 4 miles.
- It’s nice to have Miracle Grow out there – I might be a little biased
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Waterboy is collecting toys for Operation Sweet Tooth
- Skywalker/Rolling Stone/Highlands Christmas party December 10th, 6:30 pm, $20 each
PRAYERS: Waterboy’s friend lost his dad. Pray for his family. …I think I may have forgotten one. Please sound off in the comments.
Romans12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
…hope you got your money’s worth

6:44 hmmm… guess we’ll see next Thursday. I’m shooting for 10 minutes on the 2-mile sprint.
Nice variation on the Cruise and great prep for the ‘test’ coming up. I think I’ll just copy off Bagheera and use his answers.
I think I was in the mis to low 7’s during both the miles based on a quick Garmin scan. I don’t really like running fast but the only way to get faster is to of course do it. I comment to Milkbone that I definitely wouldn’t push myself to do that alone either! Great numbers! A double digit first!
Sight correction to the Christmas Party – Start time will be 7PM.
Whatley on Q tomorrow!!! HHHMMMMM wonder what we’ll do??? (logs)
Apparently I can’t type fast either…
@Bagheera – Dang boy! Can you see me bowing down to you?
@Sugar – Nice numbers! You guys used to call me the “jackrabbit” when I was at 7:45. That is impressive growth!
@Sparknut no I can’t. You’ll certainly crush me on the pushups. Can’t seem to see myself doing 100 in two minutes. 75 maybe. I’m certainly breaking my previous record. Think it was 60.
@Sugar think you’ll be disappointed with my numbers. Besides, if Ty Webb shows up, I won’t stand a chance on the 2-mile run.
Great attendance! Per my M I’m getting to skinny. Need to halt all running effective immediately!
Burgers, Beers, rocks, logs!
Rinse and repeat!
Enjoyed the change of pace, Spark Nut, and the excellent attendance today!
Sparknut-I like your thinking brother. Good job pushing the crew.
My plan is to smoke the strength part and hopefully not fall to far back on the run.
