The Lucky Horseshoe Returns

All All MECA Backblasts

August 30th, 2016 By Sugar

11 Men showed up at the WROES parking lot with no idea of what they would go through over the next 45 minutes.  This is what we do.  This is ‘The Magnet’.  We are fortunate to be able to do this and are grateful for those arounds us for their accountability and camaraderie.

Today it was my responsibility to make sure they got their monies worth!  I figured since we’ve gotten some newer brothers who have just recently joined us I’d expose them to the monotony of a kick butt WIB.  Since I’m not such a fan of Sharknado I chose the mammal route – The Horseshoe!

The Thang:

Warm up

20 SSH

15 Windmill

15 Cotton Pickers

15 IST

The Lucky Horseshoe!

We all know how this works so I’ll spare the details but here are the exercises of choice. (First and last round preformed in the bus lot on the way to HRMS)

1 – Merkins x 20

2 – Prisoner Squats x 20

3 – Carolina Dry Docks x 20

4 – WW II Sit ups x 20

5 – Lunges x 20 (10 ea. leg)

Mary:

LBCs x 20

Dying Cockroach x 20

Mason Twists x 20

Elbow plank – 60 sec. Thanks Whatley

Moleskin:

Thanks Men for joining me today and following my lead!  Nice work by everyone today, the improvement is noticeable.  The Horseshoe tends to get PAX strung out over a few laps but we all finished pretty close this morning.  Great job!  I do enjoy the Horseshoe except that it doesn’t lend to that much mumblechatter.  Maybe Thursday!

@Sparknut and @Ty Webb were the dominating force today! #machines.  Tried to hang but after 2nd round I was OK with the younger guys pulling ahead!  Speaking of Machines – we need to keep an eye on @Verona – strong showing today.  Also nice to welcome back our first Rolling Stone Ruckers – @Whatley and @Hula!  Good job this past weekend!  I think you boys have started something!

Annoucements:

Until next time!  Aye!!

  1. That was FUN!! Let’s do it again tomorrow, huh?! #DRP

    1. Guys, I’m gonna miss Fishbone tomorrow. EH’d an FNG to Tradition tomorrow morning (gotta get up even earlier!!!) so will be posting there to witness the Initial Pain!!

      1. @Sugar – I think I’m going to get emotional about missing you tomorrow.

Who’s going to fill Sugar’s shoes?

  2. Great lead today brother. I loathe running. It was good to be stretched outside my comfort zone. Thank you RS brethren for your support this past weekend for the ruck. It was definitely felt and needed. Thank You! @Sourdough, thanks for helping push me today. @Sugar and @Whatley thanks for coming back for us. To the rest of your, y’all are inspiration. Keep pushing

  3. The only mumble chatter come Thurs. will be whining and complaining!

Great job Sugar. That sucked worse than Sat!

@Hula you bringing the music box Thurs?

  4. Hate the Horseshow; we’ll have to do it again.
@Sugar, as always, good Q. Only improvement would be to have your eyes checked.

Tclaps to PAX that posted on Friday at Sirius, was a lot of fun. Appreciate the support.
RS turns 2 next week, look for a birthday party beatdown. No presents please.

    1. Must’ve been delirious. Just not sure which one of you would consider that a complement?!? (I mistakingly called him Whatley this morning)

      1. Lol. I thought the same thing at one point on the track

        1. Hula – you thought that I was Whatley or that Sugar was delirious?

          1. I could have swore you were Whatley.

            Whatley + Schnitzel= TWINNING!

          2. Schnitzel + Whatley= Shnatley PRONOUNCED= Shnot Lee

  5. @Schnitzel must have been killing it this morning! Lol

Compliment to me but surely an insult to him!

  6. @Sugar The Horseshoe is always a good wakeup call. I will get this running thing down somehow. @ Hula Thanks for the push. It helped when I needed it,

    1. I hear you @Sourdough! Running’s like drinking beer. The more you do it the better you get at it! But….if you do it too much, you don’t feel so good afterward! Great job this morning!

  7. Dadgum Ty Webb! I wasn’t planning on working that hard. Dude’s got wheels.

Great growth from everyone indeed. There were no slouches out there.

Nice variation of the Horseshoe with bus lot included.

  8. Shaved heads will lead to identity mix ups (Schnitzel & Whatley).

The Horseshoe is tough but I am grateful to Milk Bone for all the recent WWII sit ups- they actually weren’t the worst part of the workout today.

The goal was to not get lapped by Ty Webb and Spark Nut- mission accomplished (barely).

    Until next time.
