Never Fear, Drill Instructor Buckwheat is Here

All All MECA Backblasts

July 7th, 2016 By Buckwheat

13 Lakers and Traditioners joined forces at the Lakers clubhouse for a little drill instruction. YHC pulled an @The Farm by forgetting my gloves. Fortunately, I knew where to find them, returned home and grabbed them, and made it to DL just in time to give the pax a little #downpainment. Things went a little something like this.

Short disclaimer. The mumble chatter began about pillow talk and we were off. The Pax mourned the departure of Class V for D.C. as we started. We will miss you, brother!

Mosey up Davis Lake Parkway to the Daycare at Harris Woods Blvd. During the mosey, @The Farm starts talking about his new baby blue shirt. I had just the thing for that shirt (see below).

Warm-o-Rama
SSH X15IC
IST X11IC
Cotton Picker X10IC
The Squirm X10IC (just for @The Farm’s new shirt)
Windmill X10IC
Merican X10IC

Partner up, scratch that initially since the pax couldn’t seem to figure out how to partner up. Do 20 air squats, sprint to end of the street and back and do 20 curb hops. @Rib Shack mentions that this sounds like some @Gamma BS. You’re right my friend! REPEATO circuit. Biker dude killed it here. Oh to be 12 again…. Plank until the six finishes.

Partner up for real this time. Size matters. The only person @The Farm’s size was @Biker Dude whom happens to be 12. Partner wheel barrows across this nice wide street, 10 squerkins. Swap roles and wheelbarrow back across street for 10 merkins. REPEATO. LBC’s until the six finishes. There were four or five refuseniks here on the last set of squerkins/merkins. That’s when YHC turned into Gunny Highway and started using some old fashioned motivational techniques.

Mosey down to the Harris Teeter parking lot. 20 jump ups or 10 step ups each leg on park bench or brick wall. Mosey over to nearest big side walk for around the clock merkins on curb. 12 o’clock, 9 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 3 o’clock X5IC each. These suck. Thanks for introducing me to these, @Rib Shack!

Mosey around back of building. Grab some wall. People’s Chair until six arrives. Add 10 air presses IC. 10 muscle ups. Grab a park bench and to step ups till the six arrives. Start mosey back to DL. Stop at DL parkway. AMRAP jump squats till the six arrives. Six departs for Harris Woods Blvd. Rest of pax continue jump squats and then catch the six. For a little added humor @The Farm’s expense, we did 10 more squirms IC. @King Julian leads the six back toward AO. AMRAP Bobby Hurley’s for the rest of the pax. Catch the six. Plank Jacks lead by @King Julian at the intersection of DL Parkway and David Cox Rd. Finish mosey back to DL for some @The Farm lead MARY. Not sure what was done first, but we finished with pretzel crunch. YHC called recover a few minutes early by accident. 5 burpee penalty for all pax. AND we’re done!

  1. Let’s hear it!

  2. Has anyone figured out why @Buckwheat needed gloves for this beatdown??? He’s the only one that knew what it would be and we didn’t need them???

    Also where was TT? Dingo?

Good Q Buckwheat! I like that we did some running. We need to do more of it…and we will!

    1. Yeah……..where WAS Dingo & TT?

    2. LOL. I didn’t end up needing them. I made all that up on the fly, so I didn’t really know what we’ were going to do. Better to be safe than sorry. Gotta protect my hands, never know when I might need to use them at work.

Dingo was probably trying to nurse his phone back to life.

    3. I was in the smart sack!

  3. @BW: I used up all my quips texting……………all I got is thanks for the lead, ’twas good

  4. Good one today buckwheat. I always enjoy a visit to Davis lake.
