Today’s Forecast – 35 minutes of pain

All All MECA Backblasts

May 12th, 2016 By Disaster

After a week that included a 24 hour relay race, two doses of @Astrovan’s circuit training,@Glock’s golf course running nightmare, @Alcatraz’s Touchdown Beatdown, and another one of @Nanny’s thousand mile cruises, what else was there left to do? I know. Let’s do the Sharknado! Great idea!

In one of YHC’s worst decisions ever, 19 brave men gathered in the humidity to meet the challenge. It was one of those mornings where even your sweat sweats. I’m definitely going to need some cooler gloves for the summer. With lightning flashing across the sky to the east we were off.

1. Great effort by the PAX today. This workout was much harder than I remembered, especially with the humidity, as proven by my nearly last place finish. Strong showing by several men today. Here were today’s top finishers (laps completed in parentheses):

Google (26)

Kool Aid (23)

Mash (23)

Bootstrap (21)

Glock (21)

Hammer (21)

Gordo (20)

Mutant (20)

2. As the top finisher, @Google got to add his name and score to the honorary shark. And yes, this was a complete steal from the touchdown beatdown football but I always found it to be a nice touch. Sorry that there was no inspirational music to add to today’s workout.

3. I joke about this being a tough week, but it really was the worst week imaginable for our brother @Olive and his family. Please keep them in your prayers.

4. Just a reminder that @Charmin’s Instinctive Shooting and Self Defense Course is scheduled for Saturday June 3. Spots still available if you want to sign up. Check the email update for details.

5. Thanks to everyone who came out today. I’ll bring this one back out in about six months or so once it gets cooler and I manage to forget just how awful it really is.
