March Madness

All All MECA Backblasts

March 3rd, 2016 By Hula

In honor of the Month of March, decided to take the Pax on a journey through March Madness.

Left the lower lot and moseyed to the “basketballs”. On our way their did a little Pharaoh-medley on the parking spaces lines.

Upon getting the basketballs and Indian running over to the big “basketball” over at Harris Rd. Middle, decided to take team Rolling Stone through a journey in the tourney:

Team Rolling Stone started with a warm up game:

64 SSH, 64 IST, 64 CP, and 64 windmill variations

After winning our first game and advancing to the field of 32, coach thought the team needed to work on passing. Circled up with our backs to each other and shoulders touching and passed the rock aka the basketball to eachother IC x 32, first to the left and then to the right. Apart from Decaf trying to rip my gloves off it went quite well. (Thanks Pharaoh for your advice)

After winning our game in the 2nd round we advanced to the sweet 16, but we really needed to work on our jump shots. Pax lined up by the Big rock facing the fence and did a squat-shot, wherever the rock landed each Pax would do a burpee until we made it to the fence. Some pax finished before others and did burpees until the others made it.

Moseyed over to the wall by the school with our basketballs. Our Elite 8 game would require greater Defense and leg work so at the wall we did: People’s Chair. Rock lifts, And Cancans (I dont remember how many) Then we got on the ground and did 32 (8 x 4 quarters) skull crushers and bench presses. For good measure we practiced weaving through our defenders through the 8 pole slalom.

We would advance to the Final Four game, mosey back to the big rock- along the way ran with the rock above our head. Coming to the patch of grass, we did more squat shots and double burpees wherever rock landed to the fence.

Once we won that game, the Head coach was a bit worn out and had to lean on his team to pull through for the final game. Did 10 super squats (Whatley?) and then ran back to the basketball rack to returns our “balls”.

After winning the Championship game, we returned to the locker room(lower lot) for some celebration. Pax led Mary (Ws, Mason Twist, Squirms, Reverse Crunches, and some other stuff)

It was a lot of fun to lead, I appreciate yall giving me the opportunity. I always try to do something different when I Q, I am thankful yall dont quit and inspire this type of fellowship.

Dont forget our fellow brothers who have been MIA or even to pray for those who are physically unable to make it (Chachi, Happy, etc.)

-Also, hit up Pharaoh for info about his new AO over at JM Robinson.

Galatians 6:2:

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

  1. Hula way to mix it up. Good use of rocks. Enjoyed this morning.

  2. @Hula – Looks like a fun one! Always enjoy a creative way to pain. Sorry missed it but was hanging out with the @Tradition guys for the 2 year beatdown.

Where’d all the FNGs come from?? Awesome! Welcome out guys!! Anyone get their info? If so make sure to fwd the MECA update to them.

    See ya’ll next week!

  3. @Hulu – Fun and Creative! Thanks for your efforts and especially for your words of prayer!

  4. Appreciate you changing things up on us, Hula. Those rocks suck the heat right out of my delicate little fingers. Good to see the FNG’s but we are still missing some former regulars.

    Until next time.

    1. I feel (or felt) your pain! Although I was at @Tradition I learned the harsh lesson of wearing neoprene coated gloves under 35 degrees!

  5. @Marie Callendar, sorry I haven’t been out there lately, but I’ve gotta take orders from Schnitzel, who says that I can’t come for a while, until after Easter.

  6. Sorry I missed it, will likely miss at least this Tuesday’s workout as well. That beatdown @Pharaoh gave last week put a hurting on my shoulder. Definitely highlighted a weakness!
