No Cadence = The Vern

All All MECA Backblasts

February 11th, 2016 By Frodo

14 men woke up and stepped outside only to be greeted with a blast of cold air. On a chilly morning, there were very few cars at HCES at 5:26. But the caravan started then until we hit the final number of 14 PAX.

Warm-Up

After having my “cadence” mocked at my last Q, I decided on a workout where cadence wasn’t necessary. So, we ran the Vern. (Funny, though, how the person with the largest cadence critique (Gump) was noticeably absent this morning. )

The Thang

Warm-up with .75 mile run

Finish with .75 mile run

If you finished, you completed 50 pull-ups, 100 dips, 125 merkins, 150 LBCs and about 3.5 miles of running. Not bad for 35-40 minutes.

  1. Kudos to all those that posted this morning. The Vern is constant movement with very little time to recover.

@Google – Great running with you. Thanks for letting me keep up.

  2. @Frodo nice work today. Thanks for leading. At first I thought that The Vern was just a lighter version of The Murph. Now I think that The Murph is just a lighter version of The Vern. That was a lot of running. My legs are killing me today. Great workout though.

  3. I hate and love the Vern at the same time. Great workout that keeps the heart pounding the entire 45 minutes. Very good choice @Frodo! Thanks for the lead and the push!
