Exit 54’s Pirate Ship

All Harrisburg Backblasts

November 10th, 2025 By Talladega

Taking a page from Exit 54’s playbook, YHC decided to lead a version of the Pirate Ship workout at the Circuit Breaker.  5:29a on the watch, disclaimer given, off for a mosey around the block to warm up.  Circling up at Bubba’s with the intent to keep us in constant motion, we did SSH while YHC gave some instructions about the routine.

Just like a Pirate Ship ride at the county fair, the workout involves going higher and higher up the stairs, then slowly coming back down to finish.

If/when complete with all the rounds, walk the parking lot until all finish.  Circle up and RECOVER RECOVER.

Prayers/Praises

Take a knee, pray it out, AMEN!

Moleskin- thanks to Exit 54 for the workout idea.  I modified it slightly but it still had all the suck I wanted.  If my count is correct, doing all the flights of stairs would be 1125 steps; with exercises after each stairwell set, that would be 170 hand release merkins and 170 WWIIs.  Othello says I’m not allowed to play again on Mondays and that this workout officially sucked.  What a compliment, I’ll take it!  Good to see Constitution back running up and down the stairs again.  No keeping up with Boy Scout today.  No doubt the routine allowed you to keep moving for as long and as hard as you wanted.  Exit 54, Uncle Floyd, Bearclaw, Colonel Steve, and new guy Shane- officially known as Free Fall now (spell it how you want to brother)- all pounded the pavement from start to finish with no quit.  Thanks to Constitution for the bluegrass banjo music to drown out the moans and groans.

Peace out homeys!
