Our running of Iron Pax Week 1 coincided with the anniversary of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks, therefore we did our best to honor both.
IPC Week 1 – Feeks WOD (modified)
– 30-minute AMRAP
– Thrusters with cinder block starting at 1 and increasing by 1 after each run
– Run 40 yard down and back = 1, and increase each down and back to equal the increasing thruster count

Short breaks throughout the workout to discuss and remember the following:
Events of that morning:
1. American Airlines Flt 11 Left Boston at 7:59am enroute to Los Angeles. 5 Highjackers flew it into the North tower of the World Trade Center @ 8:46 AM. 87 passengers and crew were killed.
2. United Airlines Flt 175 – Left Boston at 8:14 am enroute to Los Angeles. 5 Highjackers flew it into the South tower of the World Trade Center @ 9:03 AM. 60 passengers and crew were killed.
3. American Airlines Flt 77 – Left Washington Dulles at 8:20 am enroute to Los Angeles. 5 highjackers flew the plane into the Pentagon @ 9:37 AM. 59 passengers and crew were killed.
4. United Airlines Flt 93 – Left Newark at 8:42 am enroute to San Francisco. 40 passengers and crew attempted to subdue 4 highjackers and the plane crashed near Shanksville, PA @ 10:03 AM.
Total Casualties from the morning included:
a. 2,977 victims & 19 hijackers
i. 246 on the four planes.
ii. 2,606 in and around the Towers.
iii. 125 at the Pentagon
b. NY Fire Dept lost 340 firefighters, 1 chaplain, and 2 paramedics. 75 fire houses lost at least 1 man.
c. NYPD lost 23 officers, and Port Authority lost 37 officers.
d. 3000 children lost a parent that day
