Two men came out and played along with YHC for the Saturday morning workout. I have to be honest, some of you were missed. We missed Constitution in more ways than one. He always inspires us with his positive attitude. But we also missed out on the music he always brings. We asked Misfire if he wanted to sing for us, but he turned down the offer. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, the Saturday morning workout would not be the same without the attendance and often the Q of Mullet. The highlight of the day was finishing up the Mary and we were able to see the sunrise on the horizon. (So far, there are some things mankind just can’t mess up!) (The other highlight of the day was having coffee at the Coffeteria.)
In our closeout time we talked about counting our blessing and having the correct attitude. A teammate of mine used to have this quote posted in his cubicle several years ago. I saved a copy of it on my computer and I have used it to remind myself from time to time. Thanks for the opportunity to lead. I’m sorry this is long, but here is the quote I was talking about:
ATTITUDE
by Charles Swindoll
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes”
