All BackBlasts Backblasts

July 17th, 2024 By Fire Chicken

When: 7/17/24

QIC: Marlboro

PAX:  Catfish, El Abogado, Tombstone, Circuit Rider, Fire Chicken, Private Ryan, Mayweather, Skinner, Spud, Popeye, and Brickyard.

Mosey to the Wells Fargo Lot for a warmup with some light stretching, Hillbillies, low flutters, hello dollies, and… the complaints took over for some Side Straddle Hops.

The Thang:

Run up hill on Union stopping at the city blocks for the following:

Grove – 5 Burpees (or V Ups)

Franklin – 10 Lunges

Marsh – 15 Merkins (or Squats)

Academy – 20 WWIIs

Donnie – 25 Mountain Climbers (or KGBs)

Run down Buffalo and down Spring stopping at the city blocks for:

Donnie – 25 Mountain Climbers (or KGBs)

Academy – 20 WWIIs

Marsh – 15 Merkins (or Squats)

Franklin – 10 Lunges

Grove – 5 Burpees (or V Ups)

Run up Grove and repeat the long Circuit.  Just enough time to finish two circuits with over 3 miles logged.  The leaders of the pack got do a confusing suicide up Grove following the last Burpees to give the stragglers time to catch up and remind them Grove sneaks a Burpee Suicide in there when Thursday’s Q stays open for to long.  Someone grab that thang.

Back to AO for a short, but timely Mary.  Tomby, your watch is wrong.  Light stretches, low flutter, and hello dollies.

Prayers:  Cat’s M and a guy named Larry (and his daughter Laura)

Moleskin:

It’s been over a year since my last Q.  I’ve felt too unreliable lately with many irons in the fire and couldn’t commit to the Q.  Felt good to get out there and lead again.  It’s hard to know what any one man is going through any given day.  It’s just easier to say we’re doing “alright”.  One minute you’re head down with production up and knocking down barriers for your people and your profits.  Then, to walk in your door and completely lose your mind over something so trivial and mondain that you need to pick up the slack elsewhere.  It’s too easy these days to turn to a screen for some time to just to get away for a minute and relax, though the next day it doesn’t seem to have helped and your just as exhausted and behind as the day before looking for the next minute to get away.  Try to simplify life, enjoy more “in the moments,” and get away from all the opinions that pull you away from what you are really trying to accomplish in life. Check on your friends and let them know you’re doing “alright” too.

It is truly a pleasure to know each one of you fellas.  You make an out of towner feel like this is hometown.

“…the solution to an overbusy life is not more time. It’s to slow down and simplify our lives around what really matters.” – John Mark Comer
