Ten of Concord’s best men and Tombstone the “Baller” show up for a celebratory beat down.
Warm-up: Mosey over to Boys and Girls club
SSH x 25
Loose change x10
Mt climbers x15
Arm circles front/back
This beat down would be a mash up of both my first workouts by Homeland and Hops when I got my name
Crabgrass.
We started off with a Indian burpee run, until each pax had done two burpees 3 times. This was designed to be a
group beat down so we went right into The Thang.
The first stop was in front of Coltrane-Webb for 25 Reverse crunches, 20 Carolina dry docks,15 WWII’s, and 10
Merkins. Next stop would be First Presbyterian Church for the same set and number of exercises. This is where
Gooney simply appeared out of thin air. Still up for debate as to whether he feel out of a tree or was dropped of so
a as not be seen in his trusty Subaru. Third stop would lead us to the Law Offices of Plumber and Snyder for
another round of the same exercises. After our exercises we rolled around to the back lot where Q unveiled the
new basketball goal recently installed. Thanks again to El Ab and the 2.0s for allowing us to play on their goal.
Here is where Tombstone earned Baller status for the last segment of our beat down. Objective, make a free throw
=no exercise. Miss= 3 burpee on the first round. Needless to say Tombstone was the first to shoot and the only one
to make a shot. All pax did 30 total burpees. Net round was 10 squats. Fair to say we did a lot of squats. Next round
was 5 merkins and that pretty much turned our workout into arm day. Last was a no pressure/exercise round and
some pax finally turned it on. Notable mention, TP. Dude can ball so don’t sleep on that jumper. After that we
headed back to AO for Mary.
Mary: repeat all exercises reverse crunches, Carolina dry docks, WWIIs , Merkins, Burpees, and Squats into a 60 sec
star gazers.
Prayers/Announcements: Prayed for safe travels back home for Catfish and the Family and friends of Concord teen
who had just recently passed away.
Moleskin: Good workout with lots of reps and a ton laughs while sweating and getting right at 3 miles. Hard to
believe I have been coming for a year already. Some mornings it’s easy to roll out of bed and get going, and others
it’s an absolute struggle to get any motivation. I am truly fortunate that Catfish and Buzz kill thought enough of a
guy to invite me out. Amazing how that one invite has redirected my life and seems to be how it goes if you just
stick with it and show up when you can. Forever grateful for that invite and Everyone of you guys. Just think , a

year ago Ground works was closing down and we gained Press and Porter and now Higher Ground. Thank you all
again and look forward to seeing you in the Gloom.
Till next time, Crabgrass.
