Mount Afton Laps…
8 runners and 1 rucker got their week off to a great start on this nice and cool Monday morning. the soreness was still strong from this past Saturday’s race, but knowing there would be several pax in the gloom, YHC was excited to get things loosened up. As YHC pulled in the lot on the late side, it was full of pax ready to roll… Always a great site.
Since Tugboat Willie is back in town and fresh off the Millennium race, YHC felt it was only appropriate that the pax knock out some Mount Afton Challenge laps and prep work for this exciting event that is just around the corner. The only problem with YHC’s plan was that Tugboat was trapped in the fartsack this am and didn’t get to enjoy the fun. Even though we didn’t have our Tugboat, a special visit from the Loveboat that sailed in from the Dawghouse helped make up for it. The pax headed out thru the freshly drained waters of Lake Dorton and knocked out a 1.5-ish mile warm up, which was followed by all the Mount Afton segments laps we could complete before time had to be called. Booter was out fighting thru his knee issue, but didn’t let that stop him. He was spotted on the route as the time was winding down and headed back with Terrible Towel. In the end, everyone made it down safely off the mount and got in some great mileage along the way.
Strong work this morning men! Thanks for coming out.
