Two is Better Than One
All BackBlasts BackblastsOctober 26th, 2020
At Highlands, we don’t usually get too repetitive. But, we always Murph the last Monday of every month. So, when no one had grabbed the Q Sunday night, YHC took it himself. Did this help him with the Q contest? Probably so.
As we neared 5:30 a.m. (at the Sports Club) YHC was feeling lonely. But, I steeled my nerves and said to myself, “Self, we’re doing this Murph even if we have to do it solo.” So when my watch chimed to let me know it was indeed 5:30 a.m., I made my way to the curb to get going.
I made it all the way to the cul-de-sac turnaround and headed back to end the first mile, when who was running toward me but @illuminati. In the end, I wasn’t alone after all! We finished our first miles solo and then took on the rest of the Murph:
- 1 mile run
- 10 sets of:
- 10 pull-ups
- 20 merkins
- 30 air squats
- 1 mile run

- While I was going to do it solo, it was really nice to be able to catch up with @illuminati. Topics ranged from schools, to kids, to elections, and more
- Smallest crowd for a Murph that YHC can remember since the restart. Missed some of the regulars. Only one excused absence today from @powerball
- The Give2Give campaign is coming to a close, and the F3 Foundation is at (roughly) $112,000 of its $200,000 goal. As a region, MeCa is at $1,290 donated (through the MeCa page; it’s probably more than that). I set our goal at $2,500, so let’s see if we can get there. - Q Sheet is looking a little light, and YHC is taking November off from leading (especially if I can capture the title belt). Come pay for your free workout. Core Principle #4 says F3 Workouts are “led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary.”
