YHC Turns 4
All Rolling Stone BackblastsOctober 22nd, 2020
It doesn’t feel like it has been 4 years, but indeed it has. As Halloween approaches, so does another F3versary for YHC. With some moderate promotion and an appeal to Passporters needing a stamp, we have us a nice crowd of 20. Disclaimer given and let the mumble chatter, I mean beatdown, begin!
Mosey to the courts for some Warmarama: SSH, WM, Crab Jacks and Merkin/MC 4-1 ladder – all warmed up, let’s go!
The Thang #1: One stretch of the Greenway Gauntlet
- Entrance of Greenway – Monkey Humpers! We have a car, yes!
- Break into two groups for traffic and distancing – Team 2 first, then Team 1 60 seconds later
- Mosey to long bridge – lunge walk across
- Continue up hill to top – 10 burpees
- Mosey to shorter bridge – lunge walk across
- Mosey to gazebo – 20 jump squats
- Return to shorter bridge – bear crawl across
- To burpee spot – 10
- To long bridge – bear crawl across – crowdpleaser
- Back to entrance – more Monkey Humpers
The Thang #2: Field Work
- Mosey to HRMS Field, line up on goal line
- Baby Crawl 10 yards at a time (original plan to low crawl scrapped due to time)
- 1 burpee or 2 180 jump squats at 10 yard line
- 2 burpees or 4 180 jump squats at 20, etc
- Original plan to go to 10 burpees, 20 180 jump squats thwarted due to time again
- Went back down the ladder at the 50 to 4-3-2-1 burpees
Mosey back as a group to Greenway entrance. Final Monkey Humper performance complete with video…but no cars…sigh
Mary: 40 LBCs – about the only thing with the “4” theme today
COT: Prayers for AA, KWs 2.0 dealing with mysterious stomach issues that doctors are having a hard time diagnosing, MC’s friend David with his struggles, and the world at large during 2020.
Give2Give campaign to support the F3 Foundation, give what you can. PREBLAST
Run a marathon, or much less, from the very AO we were at on 11/7/20 at 0700. YHC has got you ready with spots to put hydration and nutrition (BYO.)
Moleskin:
- Great crowd today…and plenty of mumblechatter to go along with it, with MC leading the charge.
- Mild irritation with abundance of chatter was quickly quelled by Steel Cannon “now you know how it feels” #wellplayed #accurate
- This just in, the first greenway bridge, it’s long
- We called it. Golden Boy blew by us on the way out on the Greenway. MC and I discussed his almost legendary lack of pacing and commented he might be the 6 on the way back…he was:)
- Good to have Plunger and his 2.0, Monet out. I can’t pry my 13 year old daughter out of bed by noon on most school days. Although I am not sure how to feel about Plunger up scaling the baby crawls to bear crawls…in order to protect his knees. #begrudgingrespect
- Thanks to the passporters for coming out – DB, HW, BT, Guinness – fortuitous it restarted this week
- Speaking of passport, Sugar is Q’ing his 6th anniversary BD (and 52nd bday) tomorrow at Skywalker. I gotta go to Skywalker for the passport, so I couldn’t think of a better time. HC for YHC.
- Big Tuna gets the serious passport award, as unbeknownst to YHC, he had moved to Oak Island…but dammit he is going to come up and get those passport stamps #committment 8 down
- This was Hot Wheels final passport stamp, congrats! That was a long time to wait to get your final one or two.
- Much love to all my Rolling Stone brothers, and our current MQ Manwich, who keep this AO rolling 5 days a week. Great to see guys that haven’t been out in a while making a return: CC, Pox, GB. Can’t beat the commute when the AO is right inside the hood.
- As mentioned at COT, I didn’t probably appreciate the 2nd F portion as much as I have come to appreciate it here in 2020. About the time I started F3 4 years ago, I started working full time from home. As we have found out from so many having to work from home this year, the social isolation is real. I’ve just been doing it for longer. Fitness is great and all, but I know deep down, the camaraderie and fellowship is equally as important with what we have with F3. The Credo of F3 is: Leave no man behind, and leave no man where you found him. Y’all definitely never left me behind and you carried me to a spot I would have never have thought I would be looking back 4 years ago. Speaking of looking back, if you had said 4 years ago that I would have done a pile of races and GoRuck events (hell, I didn’t even know what GR was,) I’d have said you were crazy. It’s been a great ride and I’m looking forward to that ride continuing indefinitely with you brothers by my side. Thanks for the kinds words today and keep being the HIM all of you are.
