Soggy Circles…

All Afton Backblasts

August 31st, 2020 By Hop Hunter

Normal route, Mount Afton, or a plan C… those were the options YHC was pondering during the drive over to the swamp.  Radar indicated that a big rain was definite, but the flashes in the sky were also telling us it might get nice and nasty. Not sure what to expect, it was encouraging to see that 8 pax had showed up in the gloom as YHC rolled into the lot.

We had 6 runners and 2 ruckers in the coral, as the clock hit 0530.  The sky was showing us the storm was close.  It was just a matter of how much work could get done before the down pour got us.  YHC let be known it was obviously up to each individual if they wanted to play or not and that we would start our normal route, but once in the neighborhood… the pax would repeat the 1km circle that our brother Spaz knows like no other.  We lost 1 pax at the start, then a couple more pax as rain got heavy.  In the end many miles were logged around the soggy circle and there was a lot of strong work by the pax.  Way to make the most out of the conditions guys!

MOLESKIN

August has been a strong month at Afton.  We had a 2 year anniversary, great #’s, our 1st service event, a driveway happy hour, and a ton of strong effort at the beatdowns.  Being the last day of the EH challenge, YHC was hoping we may be able to name a couple pax, but that was not in the cards today.  Hopefully we will see Jeremy and Bo from Saturday again soon.  That being said, YHC is grateful we were able to add to great guys to our group this month… Spaz and Zacchaues!  Even though the region challenge is over, we need to keep the moment at Afton going and continue to share the gift of F3. Aye!
