Just like old times… YHC was excited to lead Dawg House for the 2nd time this week.  Tuesday’s theme was to pick a run that Uecker might otherwise try to avoid.  Today for the 2nd cruise, YHC had considered the track since it is once again ready for the running of the dawgs… but in an effort to show good will and keep the MQ happy, YHC went will the full Bird run knowing it would be well received by the masses.

As YHC pulled in the lot close to launch time, YHC was looking forward to letting the MQ know that an olive branch was being offered… there would be NO track today, even though MQ was surely anticipating it.  YHC looked around the large gathering of Dawgs, then back around the cars, and even yelled out Uecker, Uecker… where art thou.  But alas, MQ was not there. It was hard to carry on, but YHC had 11 hungry Dawgs that were needing to stretch their legs.  YHC gave a quick explanation of how we would stab this fiery hot bird and attempt to finish together and off we went.  No one understood a word of what YHC explained, but they started running anyway and off we went.  In the end, we split groups a few times to accommodate the long legs and shorts legs appropriately and keep everyone moving thru the heat.  It seemed to work out, as the dawgs knocked out 4 to 6+ miles each.

Torch and Loafer represented for the ruckers (or as YHC prefers to refer to as the Darkside).  They were spotted along the way putting in strong work and unlike on Tuesday, Torch managed to stay on schedule… they had to wait around for the runners to make it back to the kennel this round.

Moleskin

Lots of strong work put in by 12 dawgs this am.  Everyone was pushing themselves through the heat and showed no quit.  I want to recognize 1 dawg in particular that just started running again this week and has pushed thru Peak 2 Peak and today another hot and long run.  Dr Seuss had that feeling that we all get at times… when your overheated and trying to find a way to just run a few more steps… and that is what he did.  Way to go Seuss.  Impressive display of determination out there this am!

Honorable mention to Sausage, Mayhem, and Habs for going 2 for 2 on the cruise for the first time in a while.
