Othello to the res-Q!

All Boondocks Backblasts

May 11th, 2020 By Othello

0515 – YHC arrives to see only one car in the lot, it’s Hornet!  Great to see him back!
0520 – more cars arrive, group is getting bigger, looks like we have some folks coming back after the recent COVID-19 hiatus.
0525 – YHC plants the flag and greats his brothers
0529 – Lousy disclaimer given, YHC bad-mouths Manbun for cancelling his Q the day before (I only do this because I love him)
0530 – Warm-O-rama goes something like this:
-SSH x10 IC
-Merkin x10 IC
-Mt. Climbers x10 IC
-IST x10 IC
-Windmill x10 IC
YHC gives a quick disclosure on the mosey route and we are off (paved path towards the tennis courts, long way around the soccer fields, around and back down the middle road/path and circle up at the bleachers)

The Thang
Using the Acronym-B.A.M.D.R.W. we did a set of 15, 10 & 5 reps with a lap around the soccer field in between each.  Each set consisted of:
B-urpees
A-ir squats
M-erkins
D-ips
R-everse crunches
W-WII’s

YHC “could have” taken you back up the ladder, but he didn’t, you’re welcome 🙂  Instead, we moseyed into the middle of the soccer field for a set of 10-deconstructed SSH’s.

Then, we all faced the goal and bear-crawled to the goal.  Afterward, we sprinted “AYG” to the other goal.  Turned around and bear-crawed again to center field.

Lastly, from center field to the goal, burpee broadjumps – woohoo!

Mosey back to the cars for a little…

Footnote

As Site Q, you need to be ready to step up to the challenge of “filling in” for slacking PAX who shirk their responsibilities to the group and don’t show up on their day to Q. Everyone in Mint Hill gets assigned a date to Q and you usually know about this a few weeks before.  This gives you ample time to develop a WOD or hunt down a fellow brother to trade your date due to a conflict.  No more COVID-19 excuses as a WOD could have been developed and shared with the group.  We all must take responsibility and lead by example, AYE!

My motto has always been “mediocrity breeds decay” and/or “lead, follow, or get out of my f’n way!” I am honored to be able to lead the Mint Hill AO and lucky to have such a great group of dedicated Pax to work out along side of.  Today’s turnout was awesome. let’s see if we can’t all “lead by example” these next few weeks and keep the numbers up, AYE!
