Crowning MeCa’s ‘King of the Hill’
All All MECA BackblastsApril 30th, 2020
During these times of isolation from our brothers, YHC has been looking for various ways to keep Pax across the region engaged and competing — either against a shared enemy (looking at you F3 Naperville) or ourselves.
With that in mind, starting on Friday, May 1 we will kick-off the first of what I hope is a monthly ‘King of the Hill’ challenge, putting our Pax against one another in a quest to see who can climb the highest in pursuit of a crown. Crown will be awarded by highest elevation gained per mile.
The challenge comes in at the low, low price of $Free.99 to join, and payoff is the ability to tell your brothers that you, not them, are the King. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XAWu8MXHd54zQCrJCjzNtrEA9XPInAIMJdDaGtdLtII/edit#gid=0
The rules are as follows:
- Each Pax is responsible for entering their mileage and elevation gained. Cut off for qualification is the 3rd of the following month.
- No need to link your Strava or other fitness apps. Honor system is in place.
- Only runs count, not boot camps. Too much stopping and starting.
- To qualify for the crown, a Pax must run a minimum of 60 miles per month
- If multiple Pax have the same elevation gained/mile, tiebreaker will be total miles run
- YHC will be final arbiter of results
So, that’s it. Get out into the world and start climbing!
