IM Training Isn’t That Hard

All East Charlotte Backblasts

March 10th, 2020 By Tough Skins

YHC has the Q for this morning and figured what better way to enjoy the gloom than with continuing my IM training with the Mint Hill PAX.  Ironman training is all about keeping an endurance pace, slow down, keep your heart rate low, oh and SLOW DOWN.  My goal is to help people see that almost anyone can do this.  There’s a lot of time spent stretching and in injury prevention.  The rest is in slow long effort.  Today we did a bit of all that.

Time to launch:

Disclaimer given and mosey to paint store parking lot for mixed dynamic stretches.  Some of those included craft stretches, skips, knee huggers, karaokes, high skips, etc.

Then we took off towards CVS for a slow conversational Zone 2 heart rate pace.  No man left behind, we took turns circling back for the 6 meeting back up at the flag.  Don’t short yourself finish strong all the way to the flag!

Mosey back to the paint store for yoga stretches and finishing up with calf stretches again.

Good work men!  Nice to meet our new guys and good to see some old familiar faces.  Miss y’all.
