The Thang:

Warm-up mosey with Frankenstein, high knees, butt kickers, karaoke

Warm-up COP: SSH, Weed pickers, Abe Vigoda, IST, Mountain Climbers, Mericans

Pick-up the basketballs and head to the bus lot.

Find a white line for some Len Bias (side-to-side jumps, front-back jumps)

Defensive slide passing drill

Lay-up drill

Tip drill

Suicides

Half-time contest (1 minute to make: layup, free-throw, 3-pointer, half court shot); burpee penalty for those you missed

Assistant Coach Ponyboy takes over for some 3-man weave (without ball and with ball)

3 on 3 game time with every shot resulting in a run to half-court before play continues #extracardio

6. Thanks to everyone who spent time voting for my 2.1 and her Girls HS Basketball Player of the Week nomination. Polls were said to be closed yesterday, but I just dropped another 25 votes before I wrote this backblast. #overtime
7. The Half-time contest idea came about because YHC had a chance to win $5,000 at a Davidson College game a few years ago. Got stuck on the 3-pointer. #fail  However, in 1988 my brother won a trip to Hawaii while at the Air Force Academy during a halftime challenge. He went for the half-court shot first. #swish #cashedinthehawaiitripandthefamilywenttodisney
