2 Dudes doing Snatches…

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

December 13th, 2019 By Heatstroke

YHC hadn’t earned his Rolling Stone Nickel in a while and with 4 posts in this week, it was time to finish strong.  With no M3 Q on the docket, might as well finish it up with a Q as well.  Forecast was all the rain you could take, but YHC doesn’t do bells and rain, so a drive thru edition it would be.  Two things as he drove up.  One, the presence of Roomba!  He’s back!  And since he is the only other pax, he completes the F3 accountability quotient and has the Q ready for a solo-less beatdown.  Two, the BB&T drive thru is pitch black.  Didn’t honestly think about that one.  BYOL (Lights) if we decide to utilize the local bank.  That or we get keys from AWOL Sparknut to use empty bays at CB.  Since it was just two and we were both in our cars, its off to well lit Suntrust.  Plant the flag in the grassy area across from the well lit drive thru, complete with camera screens to analyze your form and its time to go.  Disclaimer and we do the stationary..

M1: The Secret Service Snatch Test (SSST)

Yes, it’s actually a real thing, QIC didn’t make it up.  Google search it, or if you are lazy (likely) here is a short article and video right here.

It’s simple.  10 minutes.  Goal is 200 snatches.  For men (that’s us right?) the standard is a 24KG/53# bell.  Obviously scale as needed.

YHC had said 24KG KB, Roomba after a month of not posting had a 30#.  Set the timer!

It was fairly terrible, not as lung burning as 100 burpees for time, but rougher muscularly (probably not a word.)  120 reps for YHC and 186 for Roomba.  Nice work Roomba!  Multiplying Reps X Weight.  Roomba 5,580 lbs lifted.  YHC 6360 lbs lifted.  YHC will take the 120 reps as a benchmark and one day likely endeavor to hit the 200 mark.

M2:  YHC broke out the ipad and bluetooth speaker for some “professional” stretching.  Connected ipad to phone and we are off.  YouTube stretching routine below.

M3: None spilled, but if YHC ever goes after the 200 reps, it might happen

COT:  Prayers for my Dad and some calmer work conditions for Roomba

Moleksin:  YHC was honestly thinking the week might end with a bookend Heatstroke – Hot Pack combo.  No Hot Pack, but certainly glad Roomba showed.  YHC would have done the Snatch Test, but headed home for the stretching…or sitting on his ass, if going solo.  Suntrust provides the lit shelter, but dang, their drainage sucks.  Water runs all INTO the sheltered area, dry spots are hard to find…dry spots hard to find during a snatch test, hmmm.  Anyhoo, had a couple of drive thru visitors during the stretching portion that couldn’t get done with their ATM transaction fast enough.  Nickel earned though.
