Don’t Forget to Breathe
All Rolling Stone BackblastsNovember 6th, 2019
7 gathered on this crisp November morning to put in some miles. 5 opted for running while 2 humans and a dog (not included in overall count) opted for some rucking. No Q was on SUG but since YHC and a few others are participating in the Charlotte Iceberg Challenge, I mean Half marathon in 10 days, YHC quickly threw out a distance run before Hot Pack could push for the a speed workout at the track. Disclaimer given to be careful and watch out for cats (actual concern) and off we went into the gloom
First to the haunted daycare, then all the way down Moss Plantation and up the Ravenscroft hill climb then down to the greenway for the sprint home. About 4.5 miles covered for the runners. It’s on Strava if you really care. 🙂
Ruckers headed to the haunted day care and back to the AO. All of the cats live at the daycare, on the outside. Very curious how the canine Pax handled that. Perhaps the felines have moved south with the geese as cooler temperatures descend upon us.

This will be my third half marathon since moving to Charlotte and this one, like the other two (Charlotte 2017, Huntersville 2018) is projecting a gun-time temperature of < 25 degrees. I thought I moved to the south. Can someone please fix this? I mean, I’ll survive, not sure about Soprano though.
Great work getting out there for everyone. YHC has had plenty of terrible training runs but when I’m with this group, you guys push me and remind me how much I can accomplish.
The past three months I have been absolutely slammed at work. Just when I think hell week/month is coming to an end, a crapload more gets dumped on me. Through it all, F3 stays consistent. I tell myself and everyone around me, do the most important thing first in your day. For me, that’s getting my workout in. So many days, today included, I wake up thinking how deep into the double-digit hours I will get with work today and that I should just get started on it all. No, I have to take care of me first. Knowing there is a group of guys out there pushing themselves every morning gives me the encouragement to get out there and do it. Rain or shine, hot or cold, I show up to the AO at 5:29 and there is always someone waiting. I count on them to be there, and they count on me to be there. Some workouts I’m there for me, sometimes I’m just there for everyone else. Work has been insane and F3 has allowed me the chance to get out and breathe a little. Get some fresh air. Get the blood pumping. Get some fitness. Get some fellowship. Get some faith. When life has you running in circles, don’t forget to join YHC and the rest of the Pax in the gloom. I’ll be there for you, thanks for being there for me.
