King Louie and the rescue crew

All Tradition Backblasts

November 4th, 2019 By King Louie

As the time of the alarm approached YHC considered staying in bed. It was comfy, the M was cuddly, and YHC has been sleeping in a tiny less than twin sized bed all weekend at the Men’s Retreat. However, powered by too much food and a want to fellowship with other men while keeping fit, YHC crawled from bed despite the M trying to hold on. After the morning king time, coffee, and preparation for a beatdown… YHC was off to wait at an intersection for two firetrucks and an ambulance that became my escort halfway to the AO.

Once they left the road, I was stuck behind a man that decided the Speed Limit was 15 mph too fast. Eventually free there was a mad dash…. to an empty AO. Nevertheless, King Louie can not be stopped by a lack of men! Out came the bell, and suddenly a police officer was noticed nearby, watching the AO (and probably eating donuts). After a quick mosey, Warmorama began:

SSH x 20
IST x 15
Hillbilly x 10
Cotton Picker x 10
Windmill x 10
Arm Circles x 10

At this point the officer finished his donuts and stopped watching the warmorama, and left the AO. Left alone in the cold, it was time for a simple but effective beat down to pump some blood, pump the muscles, and raise the body temperature. It went as follows:

The Thang:
Goblet Squat x 10
Kettlebell Swing x 10
Kettlebell Merkin x 5 each side
Merkin x 5
Run around the church

Repeato until Mary.

Mary:
Curls x 35
Russian Twist x 10
LBC with Bell x 10
Windshield Wipers w/ bell x 10
Reverse Crunch x 10
Plank for 2 minutes

I have no clue how many times I repeated the exercises, but ran a total of 2.11 miles after Warmorama. Missed seeing the men out this morning. I assume Frostbite is still recovering from the weekend away, while Guinness is still trying to get back to 100% from his shoulder, sickness, and MECA Field Day added on top of that.

Prayer was for the AO, men of F3, men of the church, and other sadclowns out in the world. We need to encourage and uplift each other. Help keep each other straight in our walks and find our band of brothers through our fellowship. We need to get to the EHing, fellowshipping, and growth of ourselves and around us. Aye!
