Out of the box…

  • When: 10/09/19
  • QIC: Uecker
  • The PAX: Turbine, Habs, Talladega, Pharaoh, Rerun, Uecker

The back blast was posted, with references to the 3 amigos.  Some of the PAX must have gotten wind of YHC’s plan for today, unfortunately no one told Turbine about the work out plan and Habs didn’t get the Memo about shirt/shorts colors.

6! What??? 6 PAX on a WEDNESDAY with temps in the 50’s, and no rain???!!!  Is this really Wednesday, maybe its Thursday?  YHC had a special work out planned, just like Buck and his outdoor gym, I came prepared with 4 BRAND NEW flash lights.  Turbine said, “wait, Wednesday is beat down day, are we going somewhere dark?”  Yes, Turbine, yes we are!

Short Mosey to the parking lot to warm up:

  • SSH x15
  • Windmill x15
  • Imperial Storm Troopers x 15

The plan:

In an effort to increase RUN DAY participation, I brought Run Day to the Beat Down!  Just like a Rucker brings a ruck pack to a beat down.  Grab a flash light and follow me to Carolando we go!!  We ran to the Cul da sack and did 20 Merkins and 20 WW2’s quietly so we didn’t wake the neighbors.  Then we ran back to the Dawg House, we did 20 more merkins and 20 more WW2’s.  Then we ran another lap around the ENTIRE parking lot, and guess what?  (read in Forest Gumps voice) we did 20 Merkins and 20 WW2’s.

YHC could tell the Turbine was not a fan of all the running, so we went to the bricks and finished with 3 sets of 20 Curls, 20 Skull crushers, and 20 Chest Press.

Back to Mary

  • Pretzel Crunch x20
  • Low Flutter x 20

Recover:  YHC spoke about Yom Kippor and how it is the Highest of the holy days in the Jewish religion.  The Day of atonement is asking God to write your name in the book of life for the new year and for this privilege of 1 more year of life, we give up food and drink for 24 hours.  So say a prayer for your Jewish friends today.

Moleskin: Today was a little selfish on my part as I need the miles for my 1/2 marathon coming up and what better way then to Q!  Overall we got almost 3 miles and for a beat down that is pretty good.  Way to hang in there Turbine!  I know it was tough, but imagine if you ran with us every week!  Then it would be easy!  Great news is that Turbine is promising a stationary work out on Friday.  No burpees, no running, and tons of Squirm action!  Thanks for playing along today and for showing up!

Great Q @Uecker, in spite of the running!
