Three of Highlands’ favorite cruisers, who will all run various distances at the 2019 Charlotte Marathon in November, gathered in the gloom at Highland Creek Elementary this morning for a training run.

Comments were made about the lack of anyone present for Speed, though the Sign-up Genius showed no Q. However, as 5:30 struck, none other than Highlands’ favorite gazelle @tinydancer drove in.

YHC broke the news, gently, that this wasn’t Speed, but that he was welcome to join us for our run. @Pavarotti and @KleanUp only had six miles on the schedule, so he obliged and off we went.

The Thang

• Out the Main HCES Entrance, left on HC Pkwy
• Left at first Beauvista, around and back to HC Pkwy
• Left back onto Pkwy and across to new (and wonderful) sidewalk along Ridge
• Ridge all the way to Benfield, left onto Benfield and across 485
• Left onto Prosperity Church
• Right on Johnston Ohler to Mallard Creek HS and across 485
• Right onto Jimmy Ohler and left onto Creek Breeze
• Right onto Ridge, left onto Street
• Left onto (a traffic-free) Dogwood and back to the cars

Moleskin

• We skipped Namearama, though we had a few minutes of quality 2nd F before YHC had to continue his run. While the others only had 6 on the schedule, I was due for 14.
• Thanks to everyone for running. It certainly made the time go by much faster. Glad @pavarotti and @kleanup gave the HC for the half marathon.
• Props to @tinydancer for his adaptive nature. We may have him signed up for the half-marathon by the end of things.
• I wasn’t planning on writing a BB when I woke up this morning, but figured someone should document the awesome. Which leads me to my next point:
• Signup Genius is open.  Those who have completed Q school need to pick a morning for your VQ.  I figure at least part of the reason why no one by @tinydancer was posting was because no one was signed up to Q.
