Fun with Fuzzy Yellow Balls
All BackBlasts BackblastsAugust 29th, 2019
Today continued a welcome break from the heat as we transition into fall. The shovel flag was planted and the PAX gathered in the gloom with dawn a distant hint on the horizon. Our strong bootcamp numbers continued with 24 of Highlands, and Skywalker’s finest for tennis ball themed beatdown. After the disclaimer, and obligatory interruption by @Gump’s mumblechatter, we mosey’d up to the bus parking lot for:
WARMARAMA
- SSH x15
- Hill Billies x12
- IST x 12
- Plank Jacks x15
- Cotton Picker x15
- Merkins with rotation x5
THE THANG
Pair up. Size does not matter. Each Pair of PAX (POP) was given a tennis ball. One partner throws the ball across the parking lot while the other one does the designated exercise. This sequence continues for 2 ½ minutes. At that time an alarm sounds indicating a 30 second rest period before the next cycle begins. Timing is kept using the “Interval Timer” app (available for free from iTunes) and accompanied by YCH’s workout playlist blasted through a Bluetooth speaker.
Exercises included:
- Merkins
- Squats
- LBC’s
- Reverse Plank
- Lunge & Rotate
- Freddy Mercury
- CDD’s
- Apollo Ohnos
- WWII Sit ups
- Plank
MARY
- Hello Dolly x15
- Pretzel Crunch with flapjack x15
- W x15
- Mason Twist x15
BOM & COT
MOLESKIN:
- Nice to get a break from the oppressive heat but still worked up a sweat. Ended up doing a good bit of running.
- It soon became apparent who the problem children were. @ Barrister and @Disaster quickly focused on kicking the other POP’s ball as far down the parking lot as possible while treating each throw like an NFL pass route complete with what shoulder the throw was coming over. Fortunately this did not last the entire beatdown as even they got tired.
- Signup Genius is open. Those who have completed Q school need to pick a morning for your VQ. Ask one of the veterans to help you and above all keep to the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle on your first attempt. Link to the SUG – https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0844aba62ca7ff2-master
- Great numbers continue with 24 PAX showing up to start the day off right. Even though our numbers are good please keep looking out for Sad Clowns who could benefit from F3. If you live in your head too much problems can seem insurmountable. Within the F3 Brotherhood there is someone who has experienced the same pain and talking about it will help a lot.
- Sure I missed some good fun since we were fairly spread out and had to focus on getting to @Glock’s throws before @Barrister.

What can I say. My foot slipped. About 8-9 times.
T-Claps to @bling who managed to throw my ball all the way out of the bus lot at the end of the last set. Well done sir!
