Retracing your steps @ the Mill
All Kannon BackblastsJune 29th, 2019
11 men set off on a muggy morning but were then quickly joined by a 12th who crossed the bridge from C-town into K-town but then the soon came a 13th so we ended up with a bakers dozen heading to the village park.
Warm-up: run to village park plank up and wait on six at pull-up bars….
The Thang:
5 pull-ups at jungle gym
5 dips at merry go round
5 V-ups at train ticket station
5 down dog merks on concession stand patio
5 star jumps in tunnel
bunny hops up stairs on other side of tunnel
5 burpees at top at loop road
**pax were instructed to retrace their steps, minus bunny hops downstairs, stopping at each spot on their way back to the beginning and add 5 reps to everything each time they passed by with the exclusion of just adding 2 reps to pull-ups and burpees. We continued this until we, or some, reached 25 reps and then instructed to go back down by 5 and 2.
Rinse and repeat until mary called around 0742
Mary: 2 minute elbow plank and out of time
Prayers/announcements: Trick daddy and wife return to Brazil on 7/2 until late September…traveling mercies and protection as they do GOD’s work. Deans protection in China and Hops knee issues. T-shirt order…neon orange baby!!
Moleskin: Upon entering the park QIC was quite upset to see that the tunnel had yet to be opened but after we began the beatdown a young man on a gator must’ve seen how important of a man QIC was and had a gut feeling of what I wanted that he quit everything else he was doing and immediately opened the gates to the tunnel so our workout could be completed just as the QIC had envisioned. As we began some old man in the accused QIC of copying his workout but oh how he was wrong…not only no copying but was WAY more difficult. WOW!!! Quickly became a burner and adding 5 reps each time seemed easy until it quickly wasn’t, not often I think everyone would agree that the pull-ups and burpees were the easiest part…humidity did not help but at least we had some shade. Great to have Shadow back out there in what seems like 18 months since he last posted and also joined for coffee. Apparently bandannas were the “IN” thing today as they were sported by about 5 pax. Props to El Ab for manning up and crossing the feared bridge from Concord to Kannapolis. Capt Morgan is finally back in the saddle after taking time off after the GOMR. Always good to have Steel Cannon, Ragnar and Smith & Wesson join us. All the respects, except for Backdraft, represented well! I believe most groups made it up to the 20 rep mark with a few of us making it up to 25 and starting back down on 20 before time called. Total mileage on top of the beatdown was around 3.6 miles…good job men!
Always an honor!
