What happened to thirty-eight?
All Highlands BackblastsJune 18th, 2019
Twenty-five brave men, including two FNG and a visitor from F3 Fort Mill, showed up in the muggy gloom this morning to suffer through another @Gump led beatdown. Just one problem. Apparently @Gump decided to sleep in this morning. So at 5:31 AM we decided to make this a People’s Q instead. Here’s how it all went down:
Mosey up to the bus parking lot and circle up
WARMARAMA (led by @Powerball)
- SSH IC X 15
- IST IC X 15
- CP IC X 15
- WM IC X 15
- MC IC X 15
- Merkins IC X 15
THE THANG
Run to the back side of the parking lot and partner up. Partner one moseys over to the learning cottages to retrieve a cinder block (not a coupon, because we are real men here at the Highlands). Partner two exercises with @Gordo until partner one returns. Circle up. Each set of partners gets a turn to name a cinder block exercise. Partner one completes the exercise while partner two (timer) runs the Dropcloth 200 track. Switcheroo with partner two lifting and partner one running. Here are the exercises (from memory, I may have forgotten some so sound off below if I did)
- Overhead press
- Deadlift
- Curls
- Skull crushers
- Block squats
- Chest press
- Man makers (@Bandcamp not making any new friends with this one)
- Block swings
- Power plank
- Merkins
- Overhead press (again)
- Block carries
Return the blocks back behind the learning cottage and then mosey back for Mary
MARY (@Poutine)
- Plank for 65 seconds
- Boat for 65 seconds
- Mason Twist IC X 65
- Low Flutter IC X 65
COT and BOM and Lord’s Prayer as a Group
MOLESKIN
- We welcomed and named two FNG this morning. Steve Potter posted at Mettle yesterday and came back for more today. With the last name of Potter AND being a teacher his F3 name was a slam dunk as @Snape.
- @Band Camp drove up from Fort Mill SC (nice commute) to introduce us to Tom Jackson this morning. Tom just moved down from Columbus OH and is working for Wells Fargo at the CIC on Harris Blvd. Tom is an accomplished piano player, much like Elton John, so his F3 name is now @Tiny Little Dancer.
- Speaking of @Band Camp, you owe us $3.00 for the cinder block you broke this morning. I guess they play hard down in Fort Mill. Thanks for returning the rubble though.
- Today’s backblast title comes from this morning’s Mary. @Poutine continues to reinforce the fact that Canadians can’t do anything right. He skipped from 37 to 39 when counting cadence on the Mason Twist, then tried to cover it up by counting 50 twice. Maybe this is a metric thing. Or maybe people from Louisiana really are that stupid. Who knows.
- @Dutch Boy and @Barrister decided to show their age by debating the relevance of the TV show “Boy Meets World”. None of the PAX over the age of 40 knew what they were talking about. I admit that I have seen the show and knew who Mister Finney was, but only from reruns on ABC Family. The M was a big fan.
- Welcome back to @Phantom, who I haven’t seen in a while. Great to have you back in the gloom.
- Thanks to everyone who showed up this morning. Great numbers today. Special thanks to @Powerball and @Poutine for helping out with the People’s Q this morning. We get a double dose of @Barrister over the next two days so be ready for anything.
