Robert Redford Loves Jump Rope

All Highlands Backblasts

February 28th, 2019 By Alcatraz

16 of Highlands finest gathered in the cool foggy gloom for the latest frivolity from the mind of YHC.  Disclaimer given and it was clear some were better at fractions than others.  A mosey began to..

WARMARAMA:

In a shocking turn of events, YHC broke from tradition ensure the PAX could call cadence for the following exercises when needed.

THE THANG:

Reverse Indian Run around the small circle.  The PAX lined up and to @Brinkley’s dismay a jump rope was revealed for the remainder of the morning.

Rotate through one man jumping rope for 50 turns as the timer then jumps over each of the PAX who are in a line and taking turns calling cadence for…

After everyone had their turn, a mosey to wall with a little grumblechatter from those who wanted the fun to end too soon.

Rotate through one man completing 40 jumps as the timer while all the PAX took turns calling the following exercises.

With the time expiring, @Disaster volunteered to jump one more time.  Some were not as happy as others when it was revealed the jump rope count would be 100 while the remaining PAX finished up with Balls To The Wall.

Mosey to…

MARY:

COT and BOM!

THE JUMPING MAN MOLESKIN:

  1. Well done men!   First time to try this workout and it seems the jump count could have been a little lower for the first sequence and a little longer for the second.
  2. The Sign Up Genius only has a couple spots left to be full for the month.  The challenge ends to today, so be that guy who fills in the last spot! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0844aba62ca7ff2-master
  3. Always fun to see the love/hate relationship with the jump rope.  @Brinkley felt like he had been bamboozled and threatened to leave.  @Barrister is an angry jumper slamming the rope into the ground like he is beating some hated foe.  Then there is @Disaster who volunteers for more.  Thankful he was quick with the 100 count!
  4. Mumblechatter was strong and the asphalt was cold which created more mumblechatter about the coldness of YHC boys.
  5. The PAX learned some ruckers exert a lot of energy staging photo ops.  Who knew?
  6. @Gump had some bold talk about stealing the ruckers’ shovel flag, but didn’t achieve said objective.  Not sure what happened there.
  7. For the record, YHC is secure enough in his manhood to give another man a compliment.  @Brinkley may not love the jump rope, but resembling Robert Redford is way better than resembling Alfred Hitchcock.

Always an honor to lead the PAX!

  1. @Alcatraz you have spent 3.5 years (see, no fractions) telling me that F3 is not that kind of men’s group. After today’s Robert Redford comments I am no longer sure that I believe you.

Otherwise it was an excellent beatdown. I always enjoy the jump rope. Plus @Gordo and I apparently had a side bet going on who could complete the fewest merkins. I think I won.

  2. While F3 is not that kind of men’s group, I’m not sure that commenting that someone kind of reminds them of Robert Redford crosses the line. However, I didn’t have any Robert Redford posters in my room growing up so there was latent emotions connected with the comment. And even though I have some counseling skills, if that’s the case, I can’t fix that.

You can believe me. F3 is not that kind of men’s group.

  3. It was a flattering comment @Alcatraz. I needed some positive affirmation after you snuck the jump rope into the beatdown knowing it would cause me a great deal of consternation since I am by far the worst rope jumper in the Highlands PAX, possibly all of MECA and maybe even within the F3 Nation. But I did enjoy the creative beatdown and am feeling it tonight.
