Core & Encore 1,000 Rep. Challenge

All Highlands Backblasts

February 19th, 2019 By Poutine

With a strong attendance of 12 PAX to start the week on Mettle Monday, the Highlands PAX came out in greater number today when 19 strong men decided to work on their 6 packs, which some referred as their 1 pack or keg.   The weather was fantastic and it didn’t take the PAX long to warm up when they saw the white board for Core and Encore 1,000 Rep Challenge.  YHC already received voice of concerns at 5:00 am on the length/difficulty of the beatdown.  For full disclosure, the beatdown was inspired from the days working out at BBC.  If they can do, we can do it!  Disclaimer was given and we moseyed to back of HCE while doing butt kickers, high knees, side shuffles.  We then circled up for……..

MARRY/STRETCH:

COT and BOM:

  1. Great work gentlemen!   We knew this would be challenging.  Hats off to @barrister and @buffalo_bill for completing the 1,000 rep challenge.  As for the others, feel free to send me your numbers which we can compare next time we do the 1,000 rep challenge.
  2. Since @gump was absent, @disaster provided the chatter which apparently was directed at YHC to throw him of his game.  But we have to give him credit for trying to change the 2 = 1 to a 1 = 2 for the Respect crowd.  But request denied!
  3. Power Planks and Power Rolls are now fan favorites.  We’ll do those again!
  4. Hats off to @sandman who originally said he would modify on the Star Jumps.  But I actually noticed he was not modifying. Way to know when to push yourself.
  5. My apologies on the 80’s hard rock play list interruption by Michael Jackson’s song Beat It.  I am not sure how MJ managed to sneak in with rockers like AC/DC, Guns & Roses, etc.  That was bad timing for those who were doing Power Planks at the time.  LOL
  6. Lots of grunting and complaining about some of the exercises.  That is a good sign to some extend.  A challenge is meant to be difficult but I am also open to constructive feedback.

Once again, it was a pleasure leading this awesome group of men!  Let’s do it again tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  LOL

  1. Great beatdown Poutine. The timer malfunction really pushed us those last few minutes. Thanks for the lead.

  2. Thanks @barrister! The timer malfunction can only be used as an excuse once in a while. But I can get away with it using the Canadian exchange rate as an excuse. LOL
