Valentine’s Day Pump Up
All BackBlasts BackblastsFebruary 14th, 2019
15 of MECA’s finest showed up on a chilly Carolina morning to start off their Valentine’s Day the right way. This was despite a disturbing series of posts on Slack the day before related to @Barrister’s GI issues that morning that caused him to cut the ruck short. After the disclaimer was given the PAX moseyed to the far end of the bus parking lot to the accompaniment of YCH’s workout playlist through the Gator Bluetooth speaker. Along the way we threw in some high knees, butt kicks and Stoli skips before circling up for…

THE THANG
The PAX was asked to pair up with no size restrictions. While one of each pair went to retrieve cinder blocks from behind the learning cottages the rest waited in plank position. After that we went through a series of exercises with one partner working on their team cinder block and the other being the timer until they accumulated the Q designated number of reps as a team. The sequence was as follows:
- Partner 1 cinder block curls, Partner 2 run to playground for 10 pull ups. Repeat sequence to 100 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block squats, Partner 2 run to guardrail on Shelly Ave for 20 dips. Repeat sequence to 100 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block bent over rows, Partner 2 run to picnic tables by the learning cottages for 20 steps ups or 10 box jumps. Repeat sequence to 100 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block skull crushers, Partner 2 run to Alcove for 10 WW2 sit ups. Repeat sequence to 100 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block swings, Partner 2 run to playground curb for 40 Rocky Balboa’s. Repeat sequence to 50 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block lunge position pull ups, Partner 2 run to guardrail on Shelly Ave for 20 incline Merkins. Repeat sequence to 100 reps.
- Partner 1 cinder block clean and press, Partner 2 run to picnic tables by the learning cottages for 20 1 legged squat touches. Repeat sequence to 50 reps.
While the second set of partners returned the blocks to their homes and meticulously accounted for by @Disaster the first set of partners waited in the plank position. Mosey back to Mary with optional bush jumping.

BOM & COT
MOLESKIN:
- Great work by everyone, nice to get the cinder blocks out of hiding again. Also cold enough that we did not have to worry about them being infested by critters.
- Speed on Friday.
- Start thinking about being part of a Time Laps team in May. Great event with lots of F1 and F2. Likely options are a competitive team, a rucking team and a team of those who don’t fit in the other two categories.
- Take time today to appreciate your M’s today. While F3 is great is does not provide the strength you can get from a loving relationship. And if anyone has any extra flowers, candy, or cards let @Sully know.
- Disappointed @Murdock did not show up today after all his contributions to the Slack feed yesterday. Really makes one wonder why he has so many disturbing pictures to share.
- Privilege to lead this morning. F3 has made a difference in my life and it is nice to give back.

Thanks @Brinkley for the beatdown! We don’t use the cinder blocks enough!
What @Alcatraz said!
Hmmmm… I was just thinking that we use the blocks way too often. We didn’t even have to dust off the spider webs this time. I don’t want to get TOO big after all. To each his own.
