Speed Dating in the Rain
All Highlands BackblastsSeptember 28th, 2018
Two men (who don’t like each other THAT way) showed up in a light rain at Highland Creek Elementary School this morning for another edition of Speed. We gave @Dime Bag as much time as we possibly could before heading out on a slow mosey over towards the golf course parking lot for some warmup running.
WARMARAMA
- Sprint to the first island and mosey back
- Sprint to the second island and mosey back
- Sprint to the first island, run backwards to the second island, mosey back
- Run backwards to the first island, sprint to the second island, mosey back
- Side shuffle right to the first island, side shuffle left to the second island
- Mosey over to Skyline Drive for the main event
THE THANG
- Start at the bottom of Skyline Drive for some ladder drills
- Sprint to the first street and then mosey back down
- Sprint to the second cul-de-sac and then mosey back down
- Sprint/jog to the third cul-de-sac and then mosey back down
- Sprint/jog/crawl to the fourth cul-de-sac (it’s a long way!) and then mosey/walk back down
- Sprint/jog to the third cul-de-sac and then mosey back down
- Sprint to the second cul-de-sac and then mosey back down
- Sprint to the first street and then mosey back down
Mosey back to the parking lot for Mary, taking the long way around through the entrance to the middle school and up the hill. Jailbreak from the steps to the cars. We had logged 3.0 miles at that point so we completed a 0.1 mile victory lap to get to an even 5K.
MARY = Assorted stretching and complaining about our aches and pains

- Thanks for posting today @Kleanup. It was a good day for running. The weather has cooled off noticeably and the rain was just light enough to keep us cool without getting too wet. Got some good 2nd F in as well, although we made it a point not to talk about our dismal fantasy football seasons.
- Skyline drive still sucks but is a good challenge. That fourth cul-de-sac feels like a mirage its so far away.
- We missed @Gordo today, who crushed this challenge the last time we did it.
- Still no sign of @Stoli
- @Pavarotti continues to heal up from surgery. He’ll check in with the doctor next week to see when he can get back to Speed. Until then you’re probably stuck with YHC as your Q.
- Prayers continue to go out to @Kool Aid for a rapid recovery from his recent health scare.
- Big day tomorrow, with Last Call at MCCP at 7AM (Q still needed), Coffeteria at 8AM, and F3 Dads at MCCP at 9AM. Volunteers are all lined up for F3 Dads, but if you would like to contribute some $ for post-game snacks it would be appreciated. Hope to see some of your 2.0’s out there.
- Enjoy your weekend everybody. Take advantage of the Panthers bye week and spend some extra time with your family.

Thanks Heat Stroke and Soprano for the Rolling Stone support. We hit our number goal once again for the kids. Have a great weekend everyone!
Sorry, wrong back blast. I’m sure you had a good beat down Disaster.
At least I know SOMEBODY’S reading it @Sparky!
