The ELEVATOR!
All Highlands BackblastsAugust 31st, 2018
Otis was nowhere to be found, but 12 PAX made it out in the gloom to ride The Elevator anyway. The IR list is getting pretty long at Skywalker (non-workout related), but thankfully we managed to hit our numbers for another $100 donation to Children’s Attention Home (thanks @Kool-Aid and @Genie). We generally stuck to the schedule outlined in the pre-blast, sans the late appearance by Grinder which was replaced with no appearance due to a last minute injury he sustained while throwing bows. Disclaimer was given that YHC is not a medical doctor nor a certified elevator inspector and then it was all up/down up/down from there…
Warmarama
- 19 Side-Straddle Hops
- 15 Tempo Squats
- 15 Imperial Stormtroopers
- 12 Cotton Pickers
- 10 Windmills
The Thang
After warmarama, the PAX headed down Hillspring Drive from the Golf Club in an Indian Run formation. Props to @Ty Webb for keeping the right pace while the rest of the PAX scrimmaged like a sprint mob. At the end of Hillspring, the PAX completed 10 WWII sit-ups and then moseyed over to the bottom of Timbergreen Drive to board the elevator. Timbergreen Drive is generally one long massive hill, so it naturally lends itself to an elevator concept. Cones were placed every 10 yards or so indicating a Floor number. We had 10 floors in total, going all the way to the top. Of note, Dodger lives on Timbergreen and was either on IR or fartsacked this morning, but we woke his dogs up for him nonetheless. The PAX was able to ride the elevator up and down a total of three times, with Chowder holding down the lead. The elevator rides included the following fun:
- Ride 1 UP: 5 Merkins at every floor
- Ride 1 DOWN: 5 Plankjacks at every floor
- Ride 2 UP: Bear Crawl to the next floor, walk to the next floor…repeato to Floor 10
- Ride 2 DOWN: Lunge to the next floor, walk to the next floor…repeato to Floor 1
- Ride 3 UP: 5 Mountain Climbers at every floor
- Ride 3 DOWN: 5 Carolina Dry Docks at every floor
Next, the PAX was instructed to sprint/run/mosey as needed back to the Golf Club for Mary. YHC may have slightly underestimated the length and elevation of this run. It proved to be one last challenge.
Mary
Glock was the first to arrive at Mary. However, Glock has a fear of elevators and chose to complete his own run this morning (hoping it was chicken foot), so he had a little more time to rest before the remaining PAX arrived. Upon arrival, YHC setup the portable stereo to play fight songs from The University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band. It was glorious. Go Dawgs! Mary included the LBC, Freddie Mercury, Mexican Twist (Mason Twist) and the Reverse Crunch.

I do hearby acknowledge that indeed a Skywalker back blast has been written above…and a rather lengthy one…and posted before 9am. Impressive. Greek, you are going to be persona non grata on y’alls ICQ message board. Tclaps to getting over 10 PAX to get the charitable donation and to Kool-Aid and Genie for putting up the cash. Also, on 9/11, there will be the Rolling Stone 4 year Anniversary / 9/11 Memorial Beatdown 0530.
