Cinder Block – BOMBS
All Highlands BackblastsMay 22nd, 2018
20 of Highlands finest showed up on a dry but muggy morning. A simple disclaimer was given and a welcome extended to FNG Richard. Pax mosey to the back of the elementary school with a variety with some high knees and Carioca added in.
Warm-up:
- SSH x15
- IST x15
- Mountain Climbers x15
- Cotton Pickers x15
Mosey to the learning cottages to gather cinder blocks (each pax needed a block). We had just enough.
The Thang:
Gathered at the first basketball goal where instructions were given to partner up for a Modified BOMB beat down that went like this: Each pair of pax would alternate through an exercise until they reached the designated quantity.
- “B” – Blockee (x50). Pax 1 ran to the 2nd basketball goal while Pax 2 did Blockee’s – Flapjack. Upon completion, Pax did curls while waiting for the Six.
- “O” – Overhead Claps (x100). Pax 1 did a Cinder Block Farmers carry to the 2nd basketball goal while Pax 2 did Overhead Claps – Flapjack. Upon Completion, Pax did curls while waiting for Six
- “M” – Merkins (x150). Pax 1 ran to the 2nd basketball goal while Pax 2 did Merkins – Flapjack. Upon completion, Pax did tricep extensions while waiting for the Six.
- “B” – Big Boy Sit-ups, aka WWII sit-ups (x200). Pax 1 ran to the 2nd basketball goal with Cinder Block overhead, while Pax 2 did Big Boy Sit-ups – Flapjack. Upon completion, Pax planked while waiting for the Six. Audible was called and LBCs were done after the pair reached 100 Big Boy Sit-ups.
- “S” – Squats (x250) – Pax 1 did a Cinder Block Farmers carry to the 2nd basketball goal while Pax 2 did squats – Flapjack. Time was called.
Returned Cinder Blocks to behind learning cottage.
Mary:
- Low Flutter x25
Naked Mole Skin:
Thanks for the opportunity to lead this morning. Always a pleasure.
Hopefully this workout helped fill out those sleeveless shirts that many of the Paxs have turned too with the warmer temperatures.
Welcome back from Saudi Arabi Burn. Good to See you in the Gloom.

Well done @Pony Boy. You must have known I was going to the beach next week. Next time please wear your official Spider Man ‘Q’ shirt to the beatdown.
Welcome Richard, thanks for partnering today. I hope you learned that it’s not always a good idea to partner up with the pasty white guy with the skinny arms (sorry @Nanny).
That beatdown was The BOMBS! Feeling it today. Sorry to reduce our cinder block count by 1, those Farmer’s carries were tough and I was mad at my block for tearing up my arms doing the bonus tricep presses. It was easier carrying the cinder block in pieces after that.
