May 2018 RS APFT
All Rolling Stone BackblastsMay 8th, 2018
14 PAX took their #drp and posted to take the test, the Army Physical Fitness Test. YHC had made the decision that it was time to utilize the APFT to measure improvement among the PAX and today was the first installment, with the second to come in two months. With disclaimer given, we moseyed with some high knees, butt kickers, toy soldiers and world’s greatest stretch to the entrance alcove of Odell Primary.
Warmarama: SSH X 20, WM X 10, IST X 15 and that’s enough
The Thang: APFT – Army Physical Fitness Test
- 2 minutes max push ups – bis/tris must get to parallel to ground and must lock out at the top – no short stroking. May not rest by laying on the ground, knees up. Partner observes and counts legitimate reps. Switch.
- 2 minutes max sit ups – hands must be locked behind head while partner holds feet. No lying back on ground to rest, only rest at top. Switch.
- 2 mile time run – start at fence, run to HRMS track, run 4 laps, return – exactly 2 miles
- Props to Schnitzel who traditionally runs the APFT but could not make this one, I was just following along albeit with form police in tow.

COT: Prayers to Brimley’s MIL, and Cream Cheese’s classmate from jr high who has cancer, had leg amputated, but it spread anyway and he doesn’t have much time left…very sad.
Moleskin:
- Great work today gentlemen! Looking at the numbers, YHC did not roll his eyes at any of them, they look legit, let’s keep doing it the right way and see how much we can improve in future APFTs. Take a look at yourself and ask what you can do to improve on your numbers and do it! I am looking at weight loss and increased running after my GR Heavy to help push those numbers up myself.
- Welcome White Castle! Great job out there buddy, it is great to have you. You will be crushing these numbers in no time, just keep posting.
- Great job by Sparknut and Cream Cheese pushing the pace on the run.
- Good to have a solid crowd out for this one, it is always more “fun” with more PAX
- Chip off $5 to Kilowatt if/when you can for purchasing the supplies for the new shovel flag (thx to Steel Cannon for donating and reminding me this morning)
- Speaking of the shovel flag, let’s do our best to be mindful of it during our beatdowns, for it’s safety and what it means.
Have a blessed day – Heatstroke
