So YHC signed up to Q late last night with the thoughts of plastic sleds dancing in his head.  For months I’ve been wondering how to perform this original beat down and the plastic sleds did the trick. I sent out a Slack message to invite all to bring a plastic sled however I was the only one to show up with some.  Something about crawling under my house at 5am wasn’t going to happen.  thank goodness I brought two.

Warm Up:  With a quick disclaimer we did one lap around the parking lot with some high knees and butt kickers, picked up Deuce along the way then mosey’d over to the Korean War Memorial for some of the following: SSH, Wind Mills, Cotton Pickers and 3 rounds of clock Merkins.  Slow mosey over to my truck where I grabbed the sleds and over to the football fields.  Fields were closed so we used the very ends not to intrude that much.  What we did had some modifying very quickly.

The Thang:  Broke up into 2 groups of 5.  First person had to put only his feet  in the sled with the rest of his body in a plank position.  Then you had to propel yourself forward with your hands, basically walking on your hands while the rest of your body remained rigid.  Person would go as far as he could and when he stop the next member of his team would pick up and go from there.  Repeat until we went the entire length of the football field and back.  Then we repeated the same thing only going from sideline to sideline.  While the others were waiting their turn they were doing Bobby Hurley’s or squats.  I hope this was effective for all you participated.

With time left we then did the usual, as many Merkins in 2 minutes and as many Army sit ups in 2 mintues.

Grab my sleds where we ran back to the parking lot for 5 minutes of Mary that included Flutter Kicks, Mountain Climbers, Flutter Kicks, Homer to Marge, and Rosalita.  Amen

Fun workout this morning.  We need to come up with a name for my sled exercise.  Maybe the Walrus?  Somebody mentioned seals??
