MOLESKIN

On a couple of those exercises – I was on the sketchy end of “Don’t Q it if you can’t do it”. Heatstroke made sure that squats were to the correct depth and Project gave encouragement to work on form for merkins.  And that brings me to the subject of accountability.

I robbed you guys of 5 min of beatdown totally unintentionally. I’m sorry. I’ll be better about timing next time. While 5 mins doesn’t seem like a big deal – spread it out over 262 weekdays and that’s 1,310 minutes which is the equivalent of 30 beatdowns. If everyone goofed off on the Q like I did – over 1 year: that’s a month’s worth of gains lost.

I should bring what others do – even down to the little things. It’s the “little things” – the extra slice of pizza, the extra day in the fartsack, one more drink, the “innocent” conversation…that’s where things start going sideways into more serious issues.

I wouldn’t be doing this without you guys. Which is why I’m excited about Whetstone – because if the same level of accountability and discipline is brought to bear on our emotional and spiritual well-being – that’d be incredible.

At church this past Sunday, the pastor brought up this verse (for your convenience – the link fast forwards to the part where he talks about this):

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16

He said, we hear the 2nd part of that verse, but we don’t often hear the first part. The context of the verse is that prayer’s effectiveness is related to the righteousness of the petitioner. You won’t get that way on your own and – like Man Down said during the Whetstone launch – your nature and the culture won’t take you in that direction: it’s gotta be intentional. Let’s all continue to keep it that way and welcome the form police – in love – in all areas of our life.
