I was told there would be no math
All Highlands BackblastsMarch 13th, 2018
Thirteen men showed up to Highland Creek Elementary School this morning thrilled to see that there was no more rain. They were not as thrilled once they learned who today’s ‘Q’ was. After a rather lengthy and thorough disclaimer in honor of proud new papa @Barrister (during which @Pony Boy may or may not have fallen asleep) the PAX was off for a quick run up to the bus lot for…

THE THANG
Today’s beatdown was something new YHC made up just to prove that my math skills were still in place. The PAX partnered up by fitness level and were instructed to start at one of six stations scattered around the edges of the parking lot (in a cool looking hexagon pattern). Each station had a cone, a number, and two different exercises. Each partner completed one set of the exercises and then rotated around to the next station. After a full loop (hexagon) the PAX came back around and completed the second exercise and continued to rotate through each station. After two loops (hexagons) the PAX was instructed to add 5 reps to each exercise and continue the cycle. The sets were as follows:
- 10 Burpees or Pull Ups
- 20 Merkins or Carolina Dry Docks
- 30 Squats or Lunges
- 40 Calf Raises or Curb Hops
- 50 LBC or Reverse Crunch (or Reverend Crunch if you prefer)
- 60 Rocky Balboas or Apollo Ohno (or Eric Heiden if you’re old school)
Time was called at 6AM with most groups completing between three and four full laps (hexagons). Mosey over to the guard rails for some additional upper body work
- 10 dips IC
- 10 inclined merkins IC
- 10 declined merkins IC
- 10 lower body holds halfway down IC
- Repeato (except for the halfway down hold because YHC was too tired for that)
Mosey back for Mary. Say goodbye to @Gump and @Pony Boy

MOLESKIN
- There was a surprising lack of youngsters out today, with @The Nanny serving as today’s ‘War Baby’ at age 41. I’m guessing they’re all out there getting psyched up for this weekend’s ruck challenge.
- Speaking of which, @The Nanny informed everyone that said ruck challenge would be kicking off at 26 Acres this Friday night at 8PM. All PAX interested in sitting back to drink a beer and cheer those suckers on are more than welcome to show up and join us.
- The Burpee Mile is scheduled for this Thursday. Start planning your strategy now.
- TClaps to @Barrister who welcomed new 2.1 Catherine Rose to the family last Friday. Get some sleep buddy, you’re gonna need it.
- Prayers go out to @Alcatraz who is recovering from outpatient surgery and will be on the DL for the next four weeks. Get well soon. We need someone to yell at @Gump for us.
- Thanks to everyone who showed up this morning. I think I may make the loop (hexagon) smaller next time so we can get more reps in but it still seemed to work okay for a first try.
- Have a great week everyone. Hopefully we’re almost done with winter.

My doctor said 4 weeks, but then he also told me not to shower for a week. So I’m thinking both of those will be cut short. Miss the gloom already.
be well my friend
