Marine Corp Short Card (X2)

All Highlands Backblasts

December 21st, 2017 By KleanUp

It was dark and moist, yet 16 of Highland’s baddest still gathered in the gloom to beat back the first day of winter.  Disclaimer was given and we were off.

The Thang:

Welcome gentlemen to the Marine Corp Short Card.  The Marines, like all other US Military outfits conduct physical fitness testing.  There is both a “short card” and “long card”.  Baby steps here so let’s start with the short card… twice.  Yes…  X 2.  Each exercise performed by the Pax as a unit before moving onto the next exercise on the card.  All exercises single count unless noted otherwise.

  1. Merkins x 30
  2. Air Squats x 30
  3. LBC x 30
  4. Burpees x 10
  5. Windmill (4 count) x 30
  6. Merkins x 30
  7. Mountain Climbers (2 count) x 30
  8. Low Flutter (2 count) x 30
  9. Burpees x 10
  10. Cotton Pickers (4 count) x 10
  11. Merkins x 30
  12. Squat Jump x 30
  13. Superman x 30 sec hold
  14. Burpees x 10
  15. Air Press x 10
  16. Merkins x 30
  17. Lunges (2 count) x 30
  18. Hello Dolly (2 count) x 30
  19. Burpees x 10

Run a lap around the lot and Repeato.  Correct…  Repeato

  1. @kleanup – Great beatdown, but never use the word “moist” in a back blast ever again.

    1. I thought you might like that.

Moist = In atmospheric thermodynamics, air that is a mixture of dry air and any amount of water vapor. Generally, air with a high relative humidity.

No good? Perhaps we go with damp, dank or soggy?

  2. Well done today @Kleanup. Just more evidence that I do not nor have I ever had what it takes to be a marine (as if I needed to clarify that).

Ditto on @Pavarotti’s disclaimer regarding the use of the word “moist”.

  3. Sounds like a good one, hate I missed it. Smartsacked after very little sleep the last 2 nights.
