Often Imitated, Never Duplicated

All Comanche Backblasts

November 28th, 2017 By Buckwheat

12 unsuspecting gridiron warriors showed up on a brisk 27 degree morning at Comanche not realizing they would be playing football on the frozen tundra of Cox Mill High School parking lot.  Well, there was no actual football played, but YHC did try to duplicate @Alcatraz’s Touchdown Beatdown 2.0.  Key word in that sentence is TRY.  You see, @Alcatraz is creative and has all the necessary accessories to do the Touchdown Beatdown right (i.e. a giant bluetooth speaker, kickin tunes, and eye black, blue, purple, green, etc.)  YHC had a few sheets of paper, an iPhone, a tiny bluetooth speaker that you could only hear from the 30 to the 50, back to the 30, and the Pandora 80’s Throwback/90’s Comeback channel rockin (not really).  It’s just not the same.  Thus, the often imitated, never duplicated title above.  The one thing we do have that @Alcatraz doesn’t is a fully lined parking lot that is literally a replica 100-yard football field with end zones!  Thank goodness for the high school marching band.

3 men did a two-mile pre-run (@AstroVan, @Forgotten Jelly, and YHC).  Thanks for organizing that @AstroVan!

Here’s how things went down:

Mosey to the High School band lot for warm-o-rama.  @Forgotten Jelly brought the mumble chatter early about YHC’s smart wool socks, insinuating that they were 80’s leg warmers. #Hater.

Circle up for warm-o-rama:

SSH X10IC

Windmill X10IC

Windmill X10IC err actually Cotton Picker X10IC #Qexerciseannouncement  Mumble Chatter was deserved here.

5 Yurpees OYO

The Thang:

Partner up and stay with your partner while traversing the 120 yard field.

Bear Crawl End Zone

5 Diamond Head Touch CDD’s (each) at the 10

10 Toe Touch Jump Squats (each) at the 20

15 Hand Slap Merkins (single count, with your partner) at the 30

20 Lunges (10 each leg, with your partner)  at the 40.  NOTE:  We tried the whole knee/toe touch accountability thing, but that was scrapped quickly as YHC wasn’t coordinated enough to do or explain it.  Just do 10 lunges each leg!

25 WWII Sit ups (each) at the 50.

Back down the ladder

20 Lunges at the 40

15 Hand Slap Merkins at the 30

10 Toe Touch Jump Squats at the 20

5 Diamond Head Touch CDD’s at the 10

Bear Crawl End Zone

Mosey Back to Other End Zone and REPEATO.

Music was playing and we got after it.  Very little chatter once the beatdown commenced.

We ended up finishing a few minutes early as my timer was jacked up on my watch.  My bad, guys.  #TomTom failure.

Frigid Moleskin:

  1.  Today was a complete failure on my part.  Decided to pre-run and didn’t set stations up in advance to allow us more time for the main attraction.  #Cobains.
  2. My Voice Memo attempt at capturing name-o-rama failed.  I missed a few names below.  #horrible.
  3. Thanks for joining us this morning from Rolling Stone/Skywalker, names not captured and I have a poor memory :-(.
  4. Since I didn’t capture names, I didn’t capture scores/station counts. I know @AstroVan and I got 3.1 done.  Sound off below with any names and your total pain station count.  My bad, guys.  I guess iPhones don’t work in the cold…  If I missed your name in the Pax count, comment below and I will add you.
  5. COMANCHE CHRISTMAS PARTY IS 12/16/17 at 6PM at Ace Ventura’s crib.  Significant others are welcome.  No 2.0’s.  Bring a side and your beverage of choice, along with a new, unwrapped children’s toy to donate to Operation Sweet Tooth.  Don’t listen to Oboe and do your shopping at Adam and Eve.  Hope everyone can make it!  An Evite will be sent by this evening.
  6. Great to have @MrMcFeeley back out this AM.  All is right w/ the world, now.
  7. Good seeing @sizzlean after only a week-long hiatus.

  1. 2.8

  2. Blind date and I had 3.3.

  3. Ace swore we did 4, but at last we did 3. But for the record we unintentionally added extra reps the first lap…to far over towards the other sideline to see those pesky pieces of paper.
