The Ghost of Championships Past, Present and Future
All Highlands BackblastsOctober 31st, 2017
In the cool gloom of All Hallows’ Eve, 21 men arose from their coffin like fartsacks to face a new version of the Touchdown Beatdown. One even came dressed in full costume. More on that later. With shovel flag planted, war paint applied, a disclaimer was given and a mosey began to…

Beginning with the docile sounds of Drowning Pool, each set of partners were tasked with traversing the mock football field with the above exercises at the respective marked 10 yard line increments. The total number of reps were shared by each grouping. Furthermore, during the lunges the partner received the accountability of touching the knee on the shoe of the partner.
The Hallelujah Chorus rang out halting the festivities. Distances were recorded. Trophy awarded and signed. A mosey began to…

THE NOT SO SCARY MOLESKIN:
- Great work today men. YHC wasn’t sure how the changes would play out over the 30 minutes with movements that were designed to require a full range of motion. Maybe next time the partners won’t share the exercise count. Sound off in the comments with your take on Touchdown Beatdown 2.0.
- Actual trophy awarded to the pairing of @Frodo and @Burn. @Frodo also wins best costume (it was the only costume, but still). Wearing a hooded cape, mask and Kansas Jayhawks jersey, he claimed to be the ghost of Kansas championships past, present and future. That is why it was so ironic that someone in Jayhawks clothing won a trophy that involved a football.
- Thankfully the music didn’t result in the neighborhood security stopping by. #LeafTheory
- Nice to have @Conchito and @Disaster back fully recovered from their ailments. Always glad to have @Winnebago at Highlands.
- HDHH tomorrow night with a preworkout. Check the daily email.
- Precinct 3 year anniversary on Thursday. There will still be a beatdown at Highlands, but it would be great if you were able to support the PAX there as well.
- Speaking of Highlands, the Sign Up Genius is looking pretty thin. This is a peer-led group. So step up and sign up to Q! Let someone know if you’d like to co-Q and look for a Q school in the near future.
- And remember to live in such a way that no one will have a hard time coming up with something good to say at your funeral.
Results as they were recorded:
- 6.5 Slappy and Winnebago
- 6.7 Pony Boy and Murdock
- 5.6 Barrister and Disaster
- 4.0 Conchito and Sandman
- 6.2 Blacksheep and Chavez
- 8.4 Frodo and Burn
- 4.5 Tagg and 0-4
- 7.5 Nanny and #1
- 5.5 Brinkley and Dodger
- 5.0 Phantom and Gordo
- 5.6 Alcatraz (flying solo)
Always an honor to lead the PAX!

Great job today @Alcatraz. I liked the new format although I picked a tough day to make my reappearance. If you’re going to keep the partners you might want to ramp up the reps on the early exercises to make them more challenging. If you’re going to go solo you may want to ramp down the lunges and the WW2 situps. 20 and 25 are a lot of reps on your own, especially if you’re going to hold us to the correct form. Thanks for leading us today.
Enjoyed the change of pace on the Touchdown Beatdown and having @Dodger to share in my suffering. Think you should keep the team aspect but make the reps individual. Had trouble keeping track of team rep counts. Nice to have a nice crisp fall morning for this but still threw off quite a few droplets of sweat. Checked Nextdoor when I got home and did not see any posts about the noise, good volume control. Thanks for a good lead @Alcatraz.
