YHC hit the Sign-Up Genius for this date months ago, taking advantage of an adjusted schedule for Parent-Teacher Conferences.  17 PAX, one of which received their name today, were greeted by enthusiasm and 37 degrees.  I believe it was @Murdock who claimed, “The last time I posted this early it was warm.”  The shovel flag was planted and a disclaimer was given that no school will be held liable for any injuries sustained today.

Extended mosey snaked through the lower parking lots included butt-kickers, high-knees, and karaokes and finished at the bus parking lot for Warmarama.

 

WARMARAMA:

• Side Straddle Hops x 15 (followed by one Burpee)
• Imperial Storm Troopers x 15 (followed by two Burpees)
• Windmill x 15
• Cotton Picker x 15 (followed by three Burpees
• Mountain Climbers x 15 (Five Merkins on your own)

THE THANG:

YHC officially welcomed everyone to the 2nd Bi-Annual Powerball Lottery Beatdown.  The PAX were lined up across the parking lot and face two pumpkin buckets (one blue, one pink), located 20 yards away.  Some mumblechatter ensued, but it’s Halloween season, so get in the spirit.

Located inside the blue bucket were 20 Lottery balls.  Each ball contained an exercise and rep number.  Each PAX takes a turn to sprint to the blue bucket and pull out a ping-pong ball randomly, calling out the exercise and reps.  PAX complete the exercise immediately.  The ball is then placed in the pink bucket and PAX returns to the line.  In addition, there were three “Powerballs”, which allows the PAX to select any exercise to be completed.

The Lottery included the following 18 sets:

• 10 Lunges (each leg) [“That’s like 20…total.” – unnamed PAX]
• 15 Air Squats
• 20 Air Squats
• 10 Jump Squats
• 10 Wide-Merkins
• 15 Merkins
• 20 Merkins
• 20 Carolina Dry-Docks
• 5 Burpees
• 7 Burpees
• 10 Burpees
• 10 WWII Sit-Ups
• 20 LBC’s
• 15 Side-Straddle Hops
• Jailbreak to buckets and back
• Powerball x 10
• Powerball x 15
• Powerball x 20

Some Powerball exercises included Apollo Ono’s, LBC’s, Merkin’s (wouldn’t have been my choice, @LoneRanger, but it is what it is…), and whatever we call what @Thor had us do.

Two complete rounds plus almost a third until YHC called Recover.  I believe we easily surpassed the 40 round total from July’s Lottery Beatdown.  Nice work!

After his mumblechatter, @TheNanny was asked to deliver the pumpkins buckets and we moseyed back to origin for Mary.

THE MOLESKIN:

1. I found it entertaining, that even though the PAX knew it was coming, there always seemed to be a reaction of frustration, almost annoyance when a Burpee ball was pulled.  You know it’s coming.
2. Welcome Shaken But Not Stirred [Are we going to call him SBNS for short?].  It’s very cool to see a 2.0 post with his Dad, especially on a day when he didn’t have school and could have slept in. Furthermore, imagine having your Principal constantly EH’ing you in the hallway during class change.  T-Claps to both @DirtyMartini and @SBNS.
3. The Sign-Up Genius is looking a tad unoccupied.  I highly recommend leading.  It’s amazing how the Q-drenaline is real.
4. @Murdock has the Q Saturday at Last Call. “There will be props.”
5. Prayers to remember how blessed we all are and how many are not.  Focus to be better husbands, dads, sons, brothers, and leaders in our community.
6. The first Powerball Lottery Beatdown was July 25th.  I received some positive feedback with the only request of “maybe when it’s not so humid.”  Hopefully you guys enjoyed it today.
