Deck of Death Part 4

All Highlands Backblasts

October 12th, 2017 By Sandman

12 men decided to escape the fart sack this morning for what turned out to be a good beatdown. Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my heart attack and I couldn’t think of a better way to start my day then to lead the workout.

The disclaimer was given and we were off. Mosey to the lot in front of the school for Warmorama

SSH x15

Cotton Pickers x15

Windmill x15

Mountain Climbers x15

Mosey too the hill behind the school for a 7-1 ladder. Jump Squats on top and Merkins on the bottom.

Mosey to the basketball courts for the Deck of Death

Here is how it goes. Line up at the first basketball hoop. First person on the right runs down to last basketball hoop and picks up a playing card. As soon as he reaches the last hoop the next person runs and so on.

The person with the card reads off what he picked up and the PAX does the number of reps on the card. Diamonds are Merkins, Clubs are LBC’s, Spades are Burpees and Hearts is Reverse Crunch.

If you are able to complete all exercises you will have done 95 of each exercise.

We had time left so we moseyed over to the guard rail and did 20 Dips OYO and 15 Incline Merkins in cadence.

Mosey back to parking lot for Mary

Hugo lead for Low Flutters and Pretzel Crunch. The we did Mason Twist and The W.

We circled up for COT.

As always it was an honor to lead the workout this morning. I than God every day that he gave me another chance. I work hard to stay healthy not just physically but mentally as well. I am lucky that Google kept on me to come out and do a workout with this group.

Thank You for letting me be a part of this amazing group. See you next time in the Gloom.

  1. Thanks for leading us today @Sandman. DOD is always a tough but fun workout. 95 is a lot of burpees for one morning. Thanks for leaving out the lunges.

    1. @Disaster, a few more lunges would have helped stretch out those hamstrings. @Sandman, great beatdown. I truly enjoy the deck of death, always a good workout. Just wished the humidity would have been more like October and a little less like July.

  2. Much respect to you @Sandman for leading a workout on the anniversary of your heart attack called Deck of Death. Nothing like staring one’s own mortality in the face and coming out stronger on the other side.
