Gnarly Goat loose in the Mill backblast
All BackBlasts BackblastsSeptember 16th, 2017
23 hard-chargin’ Loose Kannons sallied forth on a picture perfect morning for a meet and greet with a bleating visitor from the west. Here’s the Thang as near as your humble correspondent (YHC) can recollect:
Front leaning rest for muster, instruction, inspection and the disclaimin’. While we’re down here lounging around let’s just knock out 20 ‘mericans.
Commence mosey toward K-town City Hall to include karioca, side shuffle, backward.
CoP for …
20 x SSH
10x windmill
10x cotton-pickers
10x IST
10x toy soldier aka the joyful sailor
15 x slow squats
Continue mosey toward K-town City Hall. Convene at flag pole for Pledge of Allegiance.
John “IHOP” Powers completely around the circle.
Hey look! Bricks! Let’s get them and…
Start brick mosey toward parking deck.
Stop along the way for brick curls for girls, brick overhead presses, brick Kannapolis Krabby Patties, etc etc.
Hey look! There’s a train. That reminds me we should do Cack-a-Lacka- Choo Choo for 50 yards.
More brick mosey. Look! An entire courtyard of brick. Seems like we should stop there for brick-dominal work.
More brick mosey. Look! A stairwell in a parking deck! Let’s partner wheelbarrow up that thar stairwell.
Al Gore with simultaneous calf-raises.
Back down to re-commence brick mosey.
Hey look! We’re back at that brick courtyard. Let’s do “Brick” Webb ladder 1:4 ratio up to 6:24 and back down. CROWD PLEASER!
Continue Brick mosey back to pile. Replace brick. Commence mosey back to launch. Finish with circle back sprints. Wounded Warrior carry with a time hack for last 100 yds. Oh yeah, let’s not forget the hundreds of ‘Mericans along the way, and some nice Stretch Armstong work to keep us nimble. Aye.
Ye Olde Kannon-skin:
Man, when you pull up to mid-town K-town these days it sort of feels like an Ivy League University! Stately brick buildings and beautiful brick paths everywhere. YHC felt obligated to join in the brick madness. Kannapolis Police seemed completely nonplussed as a herd of men stormed off with half the town’s brick supply.
That Denali is one mountain of a 9 year old. Strong work by that whipper-snapper.
FNG Tim Hartsell opined that he was considering merlot, but suppressed said urge. Strong work sir! Glad to have you out with our merry band of nutcases. As a side note, YHC has got the goods on this FNG and plenty of nickname options for his 2nd post.
Nice work on the sprint followed by the wounded-warrior carrier to bring in the six who was limping along a bit. TEAMWORK! No man left behind in Kannon. Aye.
Coffeteria spot is jam-up.
Prayers up for all intentions that were voiced and those that remained unspoken.
It was a true pleasure to endure pain and enjoy java with the Loose Kannons! Thanks for the invite. Strong group that is only to get stronger and transform your community in the process. Iron Sharpens Iron aye!
Gnarly Goat sends.

Good getting to meet you, Goat. You’re one of those F3 names I’ve heard a lot but never had a face to put with the name.
I’ve done many a Jack Webb but never with bricks. Tough but rewarding.
