You’re all winners in my book…even you losers over there
All Highlands BackblastsSeptember 5th, 2017
Twenty-One men showed up at Highland Creek Elementary School this morning for yet another disastrous beatdown. @Gump seemed surprised to hear that there might be a theme involved today, clearly ignoring the previous twenty-one straight theme based workouts that YHC has led over the past eighteen months. The Sign Up Genius left the PAX in some suspense over today’s theme, with the only sure things being that there would be some running and that there would not be any cinder blocks involved. After a quick @Barrister approved disclaimer the PAX was off, weaving through the parking lot with a combination of forwards and backwards runs and sideways shuffles.

THE THANG
Today’s beatdown was a follow up to last year’s ‘Fastest Man Alive’ challenge. With the top two finishers from last year (@Derby and @Google) out of the picture, the 2017 title was up for grabs. The PAX lined up evenly with the third basketball goal and raced two at a time down to the rock at the far end of the parking lot and back. The remaining PAX stayed behind and rotated through a series of seven different exercise regimens as follows:
- Merkins
- Air Squats
- LBC
- Carolina Dry Docks
- Lunges
- Reverse Crunch
- Burpees
The winning racer from each heat returned to the pool to await his next race, while the losing racer was designated into what became affectionately known as the “losers bracket”. After two full rotations the PAX was down to five racers. The “losers” ran a jailbreak down to the rock and back to give the “winners” a quick breather. In the first semi-final heat, @Pavarotti dusted YHC pretty soundly. And after @Nanny bowed out with a knee injury, @Glock stepped in to take his place and beat @Mugshot and @Chavez in a close finish for the second spot. After the rest of the PAX knocked out ten burpees and thirty monkey humpers, the two finalists stepped to the line one last time. @Pavarotti showed off the results of his weekly Friday Speed workouts to take the title in a close race.
With twenty minutes still left on the clock, the PAX moseyed over to the guard rail on Shelley Avenue and partnered up. Partner one ran to the playground to knock out ten pull ups while partner two rotated through 15 dips/15 inclined merkins/15 declined merkins on the rails. Switch places, with each partner completing three full sets.
Mosey down Shelley Avenue to Highland Creek Parkway, where we knocked out a few jump squats while we waited for the six. Mosey down through the rabbit hole and back to the car lot for Marry.

MOLESKIN
- Lots of good head-to-head racing out there today, with @Alcatraz moving very well for a big man. @Kleanup overcame a Gump Jump and other underhanded shenanigans to nip @Gump at the wire. Sound off below if you remember more favorites.
- @Number One was the only member of the PAX who actually knew what he was in for this morning, and yet he still made the choice to stand next to @Pavarotti in line. Gotta choose wisely my friend.
- TClaps to @Conchito who bowed out early and then used the extra time to get some laps in around the parking lot.
- HDHH tomorrow night at 26 Acres starting at 7PM. Sounds like @Kool Aid will be there early.
- Lots of open spots on the Sign Up Genius for September. Please consider signing up to ‘Q’ if you haven’t done it in a while. No themes required. If I can do this anyone can.
- Thanks to everyone who posted this morning. As always, it is an honor to lead you men and to be a part of this group. #strong

Thanks @Disaster! I am still hyperventilating from my first sprint against
(message continued)… @TheBurn. Good thing @Grinder is looking for slow runners on Thursday.
Another great Q @disaster, but I don’t recall approving the disclaimer and I definitely don’t recall receiving my fee for said approval. Can I expect the check in the mail?
As per our contract, you will receive 1/3 of all legal settlements and 1/3 of all royalties from registered road races. Still waiting for my 2/3 to arrive first!
Great stuff, Disaster. Thx for stepping up to Q. And I think Speed on Fridays (#freeplug) is paying off for you!
well, @Disaster that one was not all bad.. just partly… I like we you are trying to do…
Wow @Gump, was that a complement? I may have to print this out and frame it.
