What do we do now?
All The Dawg House BackblastsAugust 2nd, 2017
13 men showed up on a beautiful August morning expecting an epic beatdown (thanks Hop Hunter for the Tuesday night Slack plug, no pressure) so YHC tried not to disappoint. I think things were going well until I realized that I’d finished up at 6:10 and we go to 6:15, hence the ‘what do we do now?’ dilemma. So much for a strong finish by your Q- more on that later…..
First things first, gave the disclaimer and then moseyed through the parking lot for warmups:
- SSH x10
- Mountain Climbers x10
- Imperial Storm Troopers x10
- Arm Circles x10
Moseyed to the raised flower beds for:
- With the PAX in a circle, everyone started doing Prison Yard Squats and then one person did 10 Merkins. When finished, he started back doing PYS and the next person did 10 Merkins. Continued the cycle until all 13 men completed the 10 Merkins.
- Everyone switched to doing Forward Lunge Steps and then one person did 10 Dips. When finished, he started back doing FLS and the next person did 10 Dips. Continued the cycle until all 13 men completed 10 Dips.
While bouncing up and down out of pure excitement for what was coming next, YHC explained the next set of exercises, then we moseyed to the parking lot for:
- Start at curb and run to the first line, do 10 Hand Release Merkins, run back to curb
- Run to second line, do 10 HRM + 10 LBC, run back to curb
- Run to third line, do 10 HRM + 10 LBC + 10 Scorpion Dry Docks, run back to curb
- Run to fourth line, do 10 HRM + 10 LBC + 10 SDD + 10 WWII, run back to curb
- Run to fifth line, do 10 HRM + 10 LBC + 10 SDD + 10 WWII + 10 Burpees, run back to curb
- Circle back and pick up the six to get everyone home
Repeated the exercises but this time in reverse order and 1/2 the reps:
- Run to fifth line, do 5 Burpees, run back to curb
- Run to fourth line, do 5 B + 5 WWII, run back to curb
- You get the point….
- Circle back and pick up the six to get everyone home
Moseyed toward our gathering point for:
- With PAX in a circle, first person drops out to do a Bear Crawl around the circle. Next person drops in line to BC as well, then third, then fourth, etc. When you get back to the starting position in the circle, do an Al Gore until the cycle is complete.
- Rinse and repeat
Mary:
- Mason Twist x15
- J Lo x15
- Freddie Mercs x15
- 30sec Plank
This is when YHC realized that his quest to finish on time at 6:10 was actually 5 minutes early. I guess 6 months of F3 isn’t long enough for me to remember that we go until 6:15. We could have / should have done another round of parking lot exercises as I know the PAX would have loved it!
To give everyone a full 45 minutes, we quickly moved into a discombobulated Indian Run and then circled back up for Habs Yoga to finish the morning. Habs Yoga is on your 6 and we did:
- 10 count with legs raised/bent and arms raised/bent
- 10 count with right leg extended
- 10 count with left leg extended
- 10 count both legs extended
- Rinse and repeat
Now then, we made 6:15 and all were oozing with joy for such a great experience!
Finished out with announcements, prayer requests and closing prayer. Remember:
- Pharaoh and daughter in Honduras
- Skinny Pete’s high school basketball coach’s father fell off roof, in critical but stable condition
- Yellowcake continuing to recover from back surgery
- HDHH tonight at 26 Acres
It was an honor guys to lead this morning. Thanks for the push and the fellowship and the desire to be better men. Now go lead in your circle of life and make a positive impact on someone else, be it your wife, your kids, your neighbors, your co-workers, all of the above.
