Getting Swoll at Comanche
All Comanche BackblastsJuly 18th, 2017
#Kobains for the very late BB. I try to get these done before I leave for work, but my work day started at 0715 and I wasn’t able to access my computer all day. I don’t like to do BB’s on my phone and didn’t have much time to do so today anyway. Not asking for sympathy, so feel free to let me have it in the comments below!
After working a 15-hour shift yesterday and getting home a little after 10:30PM, I elected to jump in the fartsack instead of planning something and drawing up a weinke. Sometimes that works well, sometimes it’s a disaster. Hopefully today sucked in a good way!
Here’s how things went down.
12 stallions made the best decision they would make all day by getting out of the fartsack on this beautiful morning. We first welcomed FNG Prabhu who joined us courtesy of @Ace Ventura’s EHing. Thorough disclaimer given. The Pax stated they hadn’t heard a disclaimer like that since the last time we had an FNG. #EXACTLY. The Pax was wondering if I suddenly obtained a law degree and became a lawyer. The Comanche Pax are smart sometimes, but definitely not with that comment. No way I’m smart enough to be a lawyer, nor do I have any desire to be one! #DEFENSEATTORNEYSSUCK
Parkour Mosey to standard warm-o-rama lot. Parking lot shuffle (run forward, shuffle, run backward, shuffle between parking spaces) 3/4 the length of this long lot before COP. This simple drill cooks the legs pretty quick.
Extended Warm-o-Rama
SSH X15(IC)
Yurpee X2 (Picked this exercise up from the Grand Strand Pax in SC) (Yoga Burpee – Walk hands out to plank position, do pushup, then walk hands back until standing).
IST X15 (IC)
Yurpee X4 (Those smart Comanche Pax quickly identified a pattern…..)
Windmill X15 (IC)
Yurpee X6
Copperhead Squat X15 (IC)
Yurpee X8
Mountain Climber X15 (IC) Started with standard Buckwheat cadence then ramped it up to Avalanche speed cadence
Yurpee X10
11 minutes in, we finally got started with The Thang. The mumblechatter was flowing at this point as the Pax did not like the “warm up,” except for @Robin’s Nest who was asking for more Yurpees.
Short mosey to the teacher’s parking lot loop. Line up for a REVERSE Indian run around the loop. Person in front sprints to the back of the line and around the loop to catch the front of the group. We ran the loop until all 12 Pax got to sprint a lap. @Jackpot shows up around this time. #Betterlatethanneverjustlikethisbackblast!
Mosey to front school entrance for 1 min. People’s Chair with 15 Air Presses (IC) at the end. Hammer called for 3 inches lower on our wall sits (chair), so that we did.
Grab some curb for 20 curb hops followed by 20 calf raises. Mosey to trailers beside school. 20 incline merkins on the curb. @Ace Ventura asked for some cinderblocks. It just so happens, they’re next. You ask and you shall receive my friend!
Partner up, size doesn’t matter, and grab a cinder block. Line up at the bottom of Hate Hill. Partner 1 runs up the hill to first light pole and back while partner 2 starts 100 CB Squat Presses. Partner 1 takes over and continues rep count until 100 are complete per pair. @Mr McFeeley went into beastmode to finish up the last of the squat presses. #Strong brother.
Next, we did 200 CB curls as a pair with each partner running to the end of the fourth trailer beside the bus lot. There was some confusion as the fourth trailer was actually number five. Don’t look at the numbers, think literal just like I explained it. Run to the end of the fourth trailer. At some point during this sequence @Ace Ventura started yelling out (or counting, not sure which) stuff in German. This was apparently a dig at YHC’s encouragement of the Pax to keep getting after it.
Next, we did 300 CB chest presses with partner 2 running to the yield sign in the teachers lot and back. @Mr McFeeley continued his #Beastmode during one AYG back to the lot racing YHC. Well done, brother. You were movin! By the end of this round, we were all sufficiently smoked and it was time to head back for MARY, scratch that – No time for MARY. Name-o-rama, BOM, and numerous announcements.
We got in approx. 1.7 miles today despite a lengthy warmup and knocking out a bunch of exercises.
