Iroquois Summer Solstice Ceremony

All All MECA Backblasts

June 15th, 2017 By Alcatraz

While the Iroquois Mid-Winter Ceremony is an actual Native American tradition, the Summer Solstice Ceremony is a fake holiday constructed for the purpose of a beatdown comprised of nothing but Indian Runs.  However, with the summer solstice less than a week away the temps in the gloom were only eclipsed by the humidity as 12 men kicked back the clutches of the #fartsack.  With the shovel flag planted and a more formal disclaimer given the PAX moseyed through the rabbit hole to HC PKWY.

With WARMARAMA, THE THANG and MARY all rolled into one Indian Run after another the beatdown looked like this …

Down HC PKWY and turning into the school

At Dogwood Road…

Through the parking lot…

COT and BOM!

THE IROQUOIS MOLESKIN:

  1. Great work today men!  There were not many dry spots on shirts by the end.
  2. Honored to meet @Wishbone!
  3. The intent was for Wallaby Hops to be done facing uphill, but @Conchito decided to face downhill and stare into the eyes of YHC.  He is probably the guy who will be the last one on the elevator and turn around and talk to everyone instead of looking at the floor numbers change in silence.  It reminded YHC of college when our professor sent the whole class out with assigned social norms to break.  So give a your checkout person a hug, ask to sit with a group of people you don’t know at Panera, make eye contact and talk to people on the elevator.
  4. Lots of good #mumblechatter today!  From Mayweather/McGregor to muscle shirts and farmer’s tans to @Glock avoiding calf exercises for the next several weeks.  With summer schedules and vacations, it was fun to have a smaller group in close proximity all morning.
  5. Remember those who struggle with mental illness, those affected by the high rise fire in London our leaders and military.  We need all the grace we can get as a group and this world needs all the grace we can give as individuals.  Let’s break some social norms that can actually make a difference and respond to loved ones and strangers with surprising amounts of grace and kindness.

Always an honor to lead the PAX!
