All All MECA Backblasts

Sorry I’m so late with this!! Thanks for posting.

Great turnout of 12 PAX looking for an easy, Saturday fun-time workout throwing a frisbee around…wrong.

Warmup:
Lap around CHS practice field
50 yard accellerations x 4
Walkout Merks
Hillbillies

Disc toss with penalty for every drop. No drops, so Q modified to penalty for every catch – Burpees starting at 2, doubling count each time until 10.
Fetch exercise, one thrower, one receiver, with penalty for all with a drop. Merks starting at 2 and doubling count each time.

The Thang
Now that everyone was sufficiently complaining about the lack of fun and how dirty their pretty outfits were, the real game of Ultimate began, with a couple modifications. Any drop resulted in 2 reps for all players before play could recommence. Any score resulted in 10 reps for all players before the throw off. Scoring pax chose the exercise. The list below is a subset.

Merks
Burpess
Squats
Lunges
V-ups
Box Cutters
Mountain Climbers
Carolina Dry Docks
Jump Squats
More Burpees (thanks Phidip)
and on and on

(Q can’t remember all we went through or the number of each, but we had to have done at least 80 burpees and 100 merks by the end of the day)

Mary:
WW1s
6 inches
J-Los

Trick showed me his fitbit at coffee, and it was pretty impressive. FUN workout, but a total killer, ranked up there with some of his more intense days. Everyone forgets how tired they are when that disc flies over your head and you can chase it down for a score.

Lots of competition (Fire Chicken brought cleats) and testosterone (lots of arguing over who got to be skins), but even more sportsmanship and teamwork. Most times we end up competing individually. This was very nice to compete as a team and build camaraderie with different PAX. I’ll look for more of that in future Qs.

Also very impressed at some of the grabs that were made. Photon, Underdog, and BCR all had some good ones that stuck in my head. And then there were some funny ones that were all too easy, and left on the ground.

Prayers to El Al’s wife’s cousin dealing with cancer in Brazil.

Enjoyed it guys, looking forward to game 2.
